Virgo Full Moon
Virgo Full Moon - Synthesis of Viewpoints
"Self-development is a higher duty than self-sacrifice."
— Elizabeth Cady Stanton
The strong Piscean influences this week suggest extreme vulnerability and sensitivity but there is a powerful determination in the Piscean nature — self-sacrifice in the service of universal benefit. However, in practice, personal sacrifice can lead to self-righteousness and unrealistic expectations. This week's Virgo Full Moon (March 1 4:51 PM PST 11° Virgo/Pisces) leads to an extraordinary opportunity for the synthesis of many opposing views and perspectives. We can begin to see how our vision fits into a larger picture. In order to make the most of these opportunities, we will need to work very hard to prepare by examining and understanding our personal motivations When we feel the strong need to advance a cherished vision, idea or project we may lose sight of the means used or our underlying motivations. By clearing away arrogance and self-righteousness, our path becomes easier. Although we may face significant trials and challenges this week, the process is geared towards taking us to a new level of commitment, built upon more solid principles. The danger is that we respond to challenges with resentment and impatience instead of seeing the opportunity for adding increasingly specific details to our overall vision and incorporating that vision into broader cooperative effort. In essence, we are required to come down from the clouds of grand speculation and work within the constraints of our material reality as well as recognizing the needs of others. Balancing both realms is difficult but necessary.
Rigidity and self-righteousness peaks on Sunday, complicating communication and cooperation. We are called to a journey of deep self-examination on Monday, encouraging us to clear away arrogance and understand our deeper motivations. A string of challenges on Tuesday are designed to yield a new, stronger level of commitment to a personal vision, idea or project. There is heightened activity and energy on Wednesday but we may have a hard time figuring out exactly where we're going or what we're doing — we just want to go! Thursday's Virgo Full Moon brings the pull of opposing views to a peak and demands that we find a detached, balance perspective. We are challenged to unwind any vagaries and be as detailed and specific as possible. There is increased optimism on Friday, encouraging us to test our newly revised theories and ideas. The valuable benefits that we find on Saturday could be subject to some skepticism. We may develop some jealousy if we believe others have been received more than their fair share of the rewards.
