Taurus Full Moon
Taurus Full Moon - Compulsiveness
"They always say time changes things, but you actually have to change them yourself."
— Andy Warhol
This week is dominated by an emotionally stirring Mars-Uranus opposition on Thursday followed up by a potent Taurus Full Moon (12:57 AM PDT 27° Taurus/Scorpio) very early on Friday Morning. There may be a number of 'external factors' — surprising or unexpected developments — that seem to demand action, stir up suspicions, or 'draw our ire' in a variety of ways. However, what actually matters this week is what is happening inside and how we relate, respond, and react to what we believe we see coming at us. Perhaps what is most notable about this week's developments — and easily overlooked — is that Venus enters the shadow of the next retrograde phase, occurring from December 19th until January 29th, 2022). During any period of a retrograding Venus, it is our responses that matter most. Our suspicion and distrust can increase and relationships lose some of their glamorous 'glow'. The 'rose-colored' glasses of Venus come off. With Venus retrograde in Capricorn, we begin to look for security in relationships through trying to lock in our ways of relating to others based upon what has worked for us in the past. But we are in an atmosphere of profound changes, which requires us to learn new ways of relating. We may respond with fear and even a sense of betrayal when we come to believe that our relationships are failing or we are being misunderstood. Patience and perseverance are the necessary tools but we won't be able to use them if we are blinded by frustration and suspicion. What is actually beginning this week is a new round of lessons to teach us understanding, compassion, and most of all, patience. The intensity of this atmosphere could easily lead to frustration. We are likely to face a distinct lack of focus and the tendency to 'thrash about'. If we spend the wealth of energy that is available focusing on suspicions, jealousies, and mistrust, we will lose the opportunities to show compassion and grow our understanding of the struggles that others are facing. Saturn's sextile to Chiron offers a great deal of assistance this week, but may also create more impatience. The swirl of unfocused energy, suspicion, and sense of imperative from the Full Moon could seem overwhelming. Saturn's strong influence could cause our frustrations to boomerang, producing some guilt or leading us to begin to blame ourselves for whatever stumbling blocks we encounter. Chiron's message is perseverance and honest acknowledgement of our own pain and frustration so that we can have patience and compassion for the challenges that others face. Blame and recrimination is unhelpful, while compassion and understanding can bring profoundly healing progress.
There is a significant lack of focus on Sunday and some tendency to 'thrash about' without any true sense of direction. Energy is easily wasted. There is a strong potential to feel misunderstood on Monday. Skepticism and distrust keep us from moving forward or breaking new ground. Tuesday's impulsiveness is connected to unwarranted suspicions. Confidence levels are either too high or too low. Charm and assertiveness give support to tangible progress on Wednesday. We have a chance to understand how obstacles can become opportunities. Mercury's trine to Neptune on Thursday softens the effect of the Mars-Uranus opposition, offering inspiration. An intense focus on perfection can stall our progress. Friday's Taurus Full Moon can help us to bring patience to combat frustration. We need to be patient in order to allow others to understand the messages we are trying to convey. The sense of imperative on Saturday may seem overwhelming. We need to take time to sort through conflicting feelings and contradictory information.
