Sun In Sagittarius - Optimism Delayed

"People change and forget to tell each other."

— Lillian Hellman

The arrival of the Sun in Sagittarius early in the week, does not really provide the immediate, expansive sense of optimism we might expect, since it meets up with the South Node which is near the Scorpio/Sagittarius cusp. By mid-week, Mercury arrives in Sagittarius and must also cross the South Node. Mercury in Sagittarius does help to open us up to sharing a more expansive and optimistic perspective. However, Mercury is a not comfortable without clear facts to support our optimism. The result is sensitive vulnerability. We are unsteady as we struggle to communicate our ideas and insights effectively. Since Mars is still in Scorpio, we may feel more safe when we are cautious and reserved, keeping our 'cards close to the vest'. Our tendency is to fall back on old habits and 'old ways of relating' in an effort to maintain some sense of security and avoid showing any vulnerability or uncertainty. We are generally off balance, uncertain, and vulnerable to challenges and criticism whenever we try to share our insights. However, there is an important restructuring underway with respect to the way we relate to others. Although the Moon is waning in light', there is a growth process underway that requires awareness and flexibility. We struggle to understand the significance of what we do and the impact that we make on others. Patience and perseverance will offer significant rewards this week but it is sympathy and compassion that will help us clear away the confusion and bring stability. Mars moves towards a trine to Neptune that will complete early next week. The forming trine encourages creativity and flexibility and opens the door to new ways of interacting and communicating with those around us. This week's shifts are more significant than we may recognize, especially since we are prone to stay focused on what is going on inside of us, while often missing the responses that we are garnering from those around us. With Vesta also early in Sagittarius, we may be willing to make significant sacrifices with a singleness of purpose that shows decisiveness but ignores the need to bring others along with us. We will be more effective when we seek "to understand, than to be understood".

Sunday's challenge is finding any clear information to rely on. By the evening, we gain some focus and take the search for clear information more seriously. Sensitivity is high on Monday and uncertainty keeps us off-balance. Although some may feel ready to begin to unveil new insights on Tuesday, not everyone feels safe enough to openly share what they see. Sympathy and compassion allow room to clear away confusion. Mercury's arrival in Sagittarius on Wednesday provides a bit of confidence and many feel more comfortable sharing our perspectives. Persistence and determination replace vulnerability and sensitivity. Significant adjustments are required on Thursday. Beliefs are taken very seriously and challenges will garner significant 'push back'. There isn't much leadership on Friday and our levels of confidence vary. New information brings a bit of lasting chaos in the evening. We finally begin to gain a bit of objectivity and stable confidence on Saturday. We are well grounded and willing to try to open new lines of communication.
