Summer Solstice
Summer Solstice - Creative Inspiration
"Luck is a very thin wire between survival and disaster, and not many people can keep their balance on it."
— Hunter S. Thompson
This Monday's Full Moon (1:30 AM PDT 25° Sagittarius/Gemini), arrives in the midst of an already intensified atmosphere that will continue to apply pressure until we reach the Summer Solstice on Friday. Creative inspiration is challenged by temptation and distraction — and possibly discouragement. Despite last week's focus on building connection and forming alliances, we reach a point this week where we must stand apart and alone — on our own. There is a bit of luck that seems to play a part in helping us to maintain our balance until the strength of our connections are restored or rebuilt, following the Solstice. Nonetheless, we may see some stress fractures forming — emotional instability that results from the apparent disconnection between our intellect and our emotions and a strong desire to protect our individual freedom. By Thursday, the pressure begins to ease up and we're ready to move forward, even if there have been some exchanges or outbursts that have left us feeling unsteady or uncertain. Neptune turns retrograde on Friday, along with the Sun's entrance into Cancer. We begin to find a way to more effectively merge our intellect and emotions. We recognize that the week's distractions have taken us away from our deeper creative inspiration and vision. There is an increased desire to establish a stable position, even if that means that we need to compromise our freedom. We may also recognize that there are new opportunities to be helpful to those around us in ways that also serve to enhance our creative inspiration.
The atmosphere on Sunday is quite intense. Mercury makes powerful connections, serving as a conduit for major planning activities. However, by Monday, we seem to quickly lose the connections and need to find a way to stand alone and apart all on our own. There are significant elements of independence and defiance on Tuesday. Emotional activity is very difficult to express effectively. We need to look for ways to stay detached and objective. There is some emotional instability behind the scenes on Wednesday under a VOC Moon. The intense pressure peaks on Thursday and we reach an important turning point where we begin to recognize that we have been distracted from a deeper creative inspiration. The Summer Solstice arrives on Friday and we begin to look for ways to increase our security and stabilize our emotions. There is further progress on Saturday as we begin to more effectively blend our intellect and emotion in ways that serve our deeper creative vision. We may also discover opportunities to use our creative inspiration to help others.
