Squares to Uranus
Squares to Uranus - Restlessness
"Patience doesn't mean making a pact with the devil of denial, ignoring our emotions and aspirations. It means being wholeheartedly engaged in the process that's unfolding, rather than ripping open a budding flower or demanding a caterpillar hurry up and get that chrysalis stage over with."
— Sharon Salzberg
This week begins with a Venus-Uranus square and ends with a square of Mars to Uranus. These squares to Uranus produce a building sense of restlessness throughout the week that should not be ignored. The Venus-Uranus square is followed up by Mercury's sextile to Uranus, offering us an opportunity to reflect on a number of tantalizing new ideas. Mercury follows up the sextile to Uranus with an intense but potential confusing conjunction with Neptune. Idealism, intuition, and intellectual insights will keep us quite stirred up and offer us numerous options but few clear directions. The string of opportunities that we are offered this week may lead us to try to take direct action — but find ourselves frustrated by slow progress and confusion. This week's opportunities are focused on helping us to explore new ideas and allow creative inspiration to develop. We will find more success exploring theoretical or intuitive elements which will eventually inform our ability to take 'right action' once we move past the Pisces New Moon (1:00 AM PST 20° Pisces), which occurs early next Sunday morning. The New Moon will sextile Uranus and be amplified by the Mars-Uranus square and Mercury's arrival in Aries on Saturday, just before the New Moon. At that time, we will find that the restraints are lifted and we will feel far more freedom and support for taking direct action. In the meantime, we are more likely to feel stalled unless we keep our focus on expanding our understanding and exploring a wide variety of ideas and options. But we should not just ignore or deny the restlessness and frustration, which could build to unmanageable levels by the end of week. The challenge is to keep our sights 'high', without falling into delusion or over-idealism. This week's Mercury-Neptune conjunction could easily lead to a rather zealous but confused idealistic 'head of steam' that doesn't dissipate quickly. The Pisces New Moon is notably 'impressionable', and could easily absorb such moods or resentments and have us pouring a great deal of emotional baggage — anger and resentment — into the upcoming, extremely sensitive, Pisces lunar cycle. Basically, we need to be patient this week — watch the 'show' without becoming too tempted to take premature action or buy into any overly idealistic schemes.
There is a great deal of optimistic activity on Sunday which spurs us to take risks and explore exciting new options. We feel an increased sense of independence and determination. It isn't easy to get traction on Monday. However, creative inspiration can be found by engaging in interaction with others. We may feel a bit edgy on Tuesday — itching to take some kind of action and 'get moving'. It is important to stay patient, 'keep our powder dry' and wait for a more productive environment. It is easier to maintain discipline and self-control on Wednesday. We may find ourselves focused on issues that we have little or no control over. There is a bit of a letdown on Thursday. Idealism may help to keep our sights 'high' but idealism could also push us too far into zealotry. Frustration rises on Friday when we don't find many tangible, clear 'points of attack'. Some may display real genius but others will show only erratic behavior that reflects the frustration. The doors swing open on Saturday, allowing clearer thinking and better articulation of our thoughts and ideas. Some may reveal an overly aggressive approach once the restraints are removed.
