Spring Equinox

Spring Equinox - Action

"To build may have to be the slow and laborious task of years. To destroy can be the thoughtless act of a single day."

— Winston Churchill

The revolutionary inspiration from last week's New Moon hits the road this week with a mission to take ACTION. The Sun arrives in Aries on Tuesday, marking the Spring Equinox and initiating an especially self-confident sense of mission and purpose. The independent, pioneering spirit of Aries is on full display, but also the stand-alone, "I'll do it myself!" isolation that may also surface. The delicate balance that is required this week includes the need for detachment and some kind of methodical approach. However, there is so much energy and demand for action that any perceived slow-down could easily create frustration, impatience and some particularly disruptive fireworks around relationships. The importance of telling the truth continues to point to our salvation. Mercury turns retrograde in Aries on Friday. The retrograde process will bring a review of many important details about who we say we really are. There may be significant impatience when we are asked to reconsider details that we believe have already been considered. Despite the high energy and brimming self-confidence, we really need to find a way to take a slow and easy does it approach. The sense of urgency is likely to continue to build for several weeks. Recklessness and impulsive responses to any obstacles are only likely to derail our overall efforts and create more obstacles. It is more than likely that the retrograde Mercury will take us back over extremely important ground and will reveal information that we just can't see from where we are right now.

The Sun conjuncts Chiron on Sunday, offering profound opportunities for healing — if we can muster the honesty to confront situations directly. Monday's giddy spontaneity could easily get us in over our head in a competitive standoff. The Spring Equinox arrives on Tuesday, bringing remarkable self-confidence and a strong desire to take action. However, we need to remember that there is a review process coming under the retrograde Mercury and we'll need to try to focus our energy on methodical progress and avoid recklessness. The rush to move forward on Wednesday may bring a temptation to make too many compromises in order to show forward progress. By Thursday, information becomes increasingly unreliable and our energy is scattered. Our self-confidence may take a hit. Mercury turns retrograde on Friday. Energy is high but continues to be scattered and miscommunication could lead to some relationship fireworks. The 1st Quarter Moon arrives on Saturday. Caution is called for in an atmosphere that seems to tempt us to take impulsive risks. Relationship tensions may bring an increasing sense of isolation. While great achievements may seem to be in reach, we need to continue to pay attention as new information begins to surface.
