Scorpio New Moon

Scorpio New Moon - Tenacity

"The most difficult thing is the decision to act, the rest is merely tenacity. The fears are paper tigers."

— Amelia Earhart

This week sets us off on another round of uncertainty with a Scorpio New Moon (8:38 PM PDT 4° Scorpio) on Sunday evening exactly opposing Uranus. However, this new round of uncertainty leads us into new approaches which are focused on resilience — developing skills which help us deal with the storms of uncertainty and come through the other side with our resolve intact. The Sun's entrance into Scorpio last week brought determined resolve but perhaps a significant tendency towards rigidity. However, rigidity is not our 'friend' in the face of this continuing uncertainty. Neither is simple accommodation that leads us to adjust our position so much that we lose our foothold entirely. Mercury turns retrograde on Thursday which certainly could lead us to reconsider our position — or at least our strategy and approach. It is important to reflect deeply on the difference between adaptability and resilience. Under this retrograde Mercury, reconsideration of our plans does not really suggest that our overall goals are under review. Rather, it is our approach, our strategy — the plan to get there — may need to be reconsidered. Mercury makes strong connections to Saturn, Neptune, and Pluto during the retrograde period, providing broad inspiration along with important opportunities to learn new ways to achieve our goals. Even more importantly, we have the opportunity to refine our message in ways that help to stabilize and enhance the collaborative alliances that we have been working on over the past few months.

The New Moon on Sunday sets up the lessons of resilience as we learn to navigate the continuing storms of uncertainty. Energy is tightly controlled on Monday but the new impetus from the New Moon is roiling just beneath the surface. It isn't easy to get our message across but the overriding determination has us looking for new, creative ways to share our insights. We may only see the tip of the deep determination that is at play on Tuesday but we should be aware that we are approaching a juggernaut of transformative activity over the next few weeks. There is a broadly philosophical perspective available on Wednesday, encouraging rhetorical flourishes and intense debate. Mercury turns retrograde on Thursday, possibly leading to a brief but intense bout of neediness that could encourage us to take on too much responsibility. Venus arrives in Sagittarius on Friday but the Moon conjuncts the South Node in Capricorn. We may feel some timidity in sharing our intense new ideas and insights. We'll do better to work on our message on Saturday, rather than rushing out to try and deliver that message. It's important to take time to lay out our case and consider the mulitiple ramifications of what we feel we want to convey.
