Mars-Pluto Square
Mars-Pluto Square - Controlled Demolition
"Every day you may make progress. Every step may be fruitful. Yet there will stretch out before you an ever-lengthening, ever-ascending, ever-improving path. You know you will never get to the end of the journey. But this, so far from discouraging, only adds to the joy and glory of the climb."
— Winston Churchill
On it's face, this week's Mars-Pluto square might look quite explosive. However, there are powerful elements that seem to keep much of the activity controlled and behind the scenes. The challenges in this week's atmosphere are centered on becoming too rigid in our determination — unwilling to accept input or alter our strategy in the midst of a drastically shifting landscape. The retrograde Mercury may reveal some cracks in our alliances — the result of rigidity that leads to brittle structures and unsteady connections. Remaining flexible and aware is especially important in terms of our connection to others. We need to listen carefully and offer at least some intentional reflection of what we're hearing so that we can be sure of what others are trying to tell us. The way we respond is crucial. Defensiveness is deadly and only displays the rigidity of our stance. The challenge is to stay focused on our overall goals even though we sense the instability, challenges, and disruptions all around us. We get some help from the Sun's forming, inspirational trine to Neptune, serving to encourage creative vision, even when there are challenges that seem insurmountable. There is some extremely powerful support to communicate our determination in a way that keeps others on board. But we have to be willing to open up enough to share our inspiration. We may find ourselves becoming skeptical or fearful of sharing what we see with others. Optimism permeates the atmosphere by the end of the week as the Sun's trine to Neptune completes.
We're likely to try to keep the 'loop' closed on Sunday, with little inclination to share our thoughts or strategy. Trust is limited. The apparent charm and detachment on Monday belies the intensity of the Mars-Pluto square. We are inclined to follow protocol rather than allow for disruptive explosions. Collapse of support is possible on Tuesday, especially if we haven't given our allies their 'due'. Respect of others is crucial. The tendency on Wednesday is to pull back and regroup. Powerful, inspirational rhetoric has the potential to stir our allies and somehow turn the tide. Although we want to push ahead on Thursday, we'll do better to take a step back. We're prone to try to make just a bit more progress instead of appreciating how far we have already come. Optimism is stirred on Friday as the Aries Moon conjuncts Chiron and moves into a trine to Venus. By Saturday, defiance leads us to throw open the doors and just 'let it all hang out' in an attempt to dispatch with complications.
