Scorpio New Moon
Scorpio New Moon - Twists of Fate
"Life is not an easy matter... You cannot live through it without falling into frustration and cynicism unless you have before you a great idea which raises you above personal misery, above weakness, above all kinds of perfidy and baseness."
— Leon Trotsky
This Monday's Scorpio New Moon (1:27 AM PST 20° Scorpio) is bound to inject some surprising 'twists of fate' along with some unpredictable or erratic behavior, likely revealing some deep frustrations. We spend a great deal of time and energy trying to find some sense of stability and 'order' following the New Moon as we begin to try to understand the new lunar cycle upon which we are embarking. We may be feeling quite a heavy sense of responsibility which will keep us off-balance and somewhat 'guarded'. Our individual security is also an important factor. We may be inclined to take some big chances and could be lured down some very 'dark alleys' in an effort to establish a secure position. Defensiveness can create some significant stumbling blocks. Mercury in Sagittarius and Venus in Libra form a sextile mid-week and create a balanced quincunx — a YOD — with Jupiter in Taurus. Communication is certainly enhanced by the Mercury-Venus sextile but much of our focus may be on our individual security. Quincunxes create the need for some faith in order to see around a 'blind corner' which, in this case, involves our personal security and comfort. But this mix can also offer us important clues about how our individual perspective 'fits' into a much bigger picture. As we move through the week, inspiration actually begins to build as we gain our footing. A potent Sun-Mars conjunction in Scorpio on Friday trines Neptune, offering creativity along with an important sense of purpose and mission. We can begin to see how our individual perspectives and goals can serve a 'Greater Good'. An important key to this week's developments involves understanding where our responsibilities lay. We may face increased pessimism and frustration if we are concerned about our responsibilities to others — especially if we don't get the kind of encouragement or support that we believe that we need. On the other hand, if we are focused on the responsibility that we have to ourselves, we aren't nearly as vulnerable to any external negativity or lack of support. By the end of the week, we reach an important turning point where we can more easily balance responsibility to ourselves and responsibility to others.
There is quite a heavy weight of tension and frustration on Sunday. We struggle to balance our individual perspective with Big Picture, collective beliefs and goals. The Scorpio New Moon early on Monday morning brings surprises, sudden shifts and erratic behavior. Frustrations can lead to significant explosions. Tensions begin to ease on Tuesday and we begin to focus on establishing some sense of security and order. A vague sense of responsibility keeps us off-balance and guarded. Our focus on establishing personal safety and security intensifies on Wednesday. We may be tempted to take some big chances. Defensiveness becomes a problem on Thursday. However, if we are prepared to rise to the challenges that surface, we can make valuable progress. Inspiration builds on Friday. There is a developing sense of purpose and mission that helps us to better understand our 'place in the world'. We find new ways to balance our responsibilities on Saturday. We can begin to understand how our individual perspectives and contributions serve a 'Greater Good'.
