Mars-Uranus Opposition

Mars-Uranus Opposition - Tension

"Suppose your whole world seems to rock on its foundations. Hold on steadily, let it rock, and when the rocking is over, the picture will have reassembled itself into something much nearer to your heart's desire"

— Emmet Fox

Tension and frustration builds this week, leading up to the Mars-Uranus opposition on Saturday. The effect of the waning Moon (ahead of next week's Scorpio New Moon (1:27 AM PST 20° Scorpio) is actually likely to increase the frustration as we struggle to reach firm conclusions and definitive 'plans of action'. Last week's Mars-Mercury conjunction has set up a new 'communication framework' but there is an element of unfamiliarity — the new landscape doesn't offer recognizable landmarks. Although we feel compelled to keep the pace up, there is a deep desire to look for a way to "pull over and check the map" but we don't have a map for this new terrain. While there may be incredible opportunities in this New Territory, clear, direct communication is needed but hard to establish. Strong feelings build without easy outlets for expression. There is a tendency to employ subtle, passive-aggressive methods when we can't quite understand how else to get our message across. Venus leaves Virgo this week, arriving in Libra with a somewhat helpful, diplomatic approach. But there is also increased perfectionism — another element that increases the overall frustration. We don't really have a broad enough perspective to understand the challenges of those around us, keeping any sort of cooperative framework essentially our of reach. The Mars-Uranus opposition does not encourage compromise, keeping us invested in an individual, 'my way or the highway' approach. Mercury gets to Sagittarius on Thursday evening, opening up the possibility for an expanded perspective. However, idealism is also increased and Mercury's initial square to Saturn creates an intense desire to 'lock in' firm conclusions — but those conclusions are subject to further adjustments. Next week's Scorpio New Moon, will oppose Uranus, suggesting that there will be surprising new factors injected into the situation which we can't quite see from our vantage point this week.

There is a feeling that our egos are on the line on Sunday and we need to convince others of something. We are trying to establish a more stable footing for our personal future progress. Strong feelings aren't easy to express on Monday. It will be helpful to take extra time to listen to what others are trying to say. There is significant frustration with the lack of clear communication on Tuesday. We are impatient with superficial or incomplete information. Our perspective expands a bit on Wednesday but we are still impatient with superficial explanations. Responsibility and humility are key to maintaining our balance. There is extra tact and diplomacy on Thursday. As our perspective improves we can get a better idea of where we stand in relation to those around us. We try to draw 'firm conclusions' on Friday but still lack complete information. Sensitivity is a factor. We would like to 'get busy' on Saturday but there are buried frustrations subject to sudden exposure. Surprising actions may be quite destructive.
