Saturn in Capricorn
Saturn in Capricorn - Spirit in the seed
"Don't judge each day by the harvest you reap but by the seeds that you plant."
— Robert Louis Stevenson
There is a lot going on this week — a Sagittarius New Moon conjunct the Galactic Center and Saturn, followed by a powerful Winter Solstice, Saturn enters Capricorn and Mercury turns direct. As we attempt to navigate these shifts, our ability to fully comprehend what's happening seems to be at an all time low. Some may feel the uncertainty while others seem to cling tightly to an overly optimistic view that ignores evidence of the increasing seriousness and the tightening constraints of the strong Saturn in Capricorn influence. Nonetheless, there are powerful opportunities to establish new, long-range plans and begin to build upon a more stable foundation of Truth. The New Moon's connection to the Galactic Center opens a channel for us to receive new and important messages. The Winter Solstice is the time when we store away seeds for the coming of Spring. We emerge, this week, from the retrograde Mercury period with a better understanding of our underlying assumptions — at least some of which have been abandoned. There is a deeply spiritual, intuitive insight available but tangible, material constriction may cloud our view and our judgement. There is so much going on — on so many different levels — that it seems inconceivable that anyone could see more than a tiny slice of this whole picture. In order to make any progress in this atmosphere, we need to be satisfied with taking deliberate 'baby steps' rather than focusing on the mountain that begins to loom in front of us this week.
Sunday's New Moon produces significant uncertainty but we may also experience some giddy excitement. Impulsiveness and over-optimism is tempting but will likely be short-lived. Confidence improves on Monday but there is some temptation to avoid hard choices in favor of an apparently much easier route. Saturn enters Capricorn on Tuesday. With Saturn in Capricorn, the importance of planning puts our focus on details. The Moon is VOC most of the day Wednesday and it may seem like the 'wheels have come off'. The Sun arrives in Capricorn on Thursday and Mercury turns direct. The Winter Solstice opens the door to a new round of planning but we may not really feel that we are up to the tasks ahead. We feel a degree of tangible stability on Friday but elements of jealousy or greed may undermine our desire to establish deeper connections with others. We are even more inclined to try to establish strong connections with others on Saturday but entrenched 'battle lines' may form as we seek to make important distinctions. Despite any uncertainty, we are determined to speak our truth forcefully.
