Sagittarius Full Moon
Sagittarius Full Moon - Deeper Inspiration
"It's a product of the fractal laws that govern the world at an informational level. There is no deeper truth."
— Terence McKenna
There is more 'going on' this week than we can really fully grasp in purely intellectual terms. Mercury turns retrograde in it's own sign at the end of the week in a tight conjunction to Venus and square to Neptune. Compassion, emotion, and inspiration merging with intellect, logic, and belief can have 'unpredictable results'. This is ultimately a powerful deepening process and the shakeups that we experience this week is something like the process of shaking oil & vinegar — creating an emulsification of very different ingredients. The mid-week Sagittarius Full Moon (4:13 AM PDT 5° Sagittarius/Gemini) and total lunar eclipse scatters our thoughts and fractures our emotions, signalling the beginning of a significant period of reassessment and review. The Sagittarius Full Moon is ruled by Jupiter in Pisces, bringing forward a search for deeper inspiration and understanding, beyond what simple intellectual insight can effectively handle. The strong mutable sign energy is likely to feel extremely chaotic — out of control — and by the week's end, some may look for ways to impose some structure or take control. However, this kind of response is more than likely to be a futile expression of the fear of losing control. Following this week's Full Moon, how our emotions and our thoughts come back together is going to be surprising and different from what we may expect. This is a process of deepening our intellectual insights by integrating emotion, compassion, and inspiration. There will certainly be some idealistic overoptimism along with waves of self-doubt and other stumbling blocks. The retrograde Mercury, squaring Neptune for virtually all of the retrograde period will feel confusing at times, inspirational at others. The ultimate outcome will hopefully show that we have found ways to inform our thinking with compassion and taken a fearless, logical look at our emotional vulnerabilities and sensitivities. What is perhaps most important here is to take a step back and look for patterns in the larger picture that we see in front of us. Seeing the patterns in our thinking and our emotional responses will almost certainly help us to change and grow.
There is a significant amount of chaos to contend with on Sunday but many things fall into place spontaneously. Our powers of discrimination are diminished. The chaos ends on Monday but the slowdown may seem rather jarring. There is little to offer quick progress. The slowdown points to the shift we are making towards review and reassessment. There is a vague idealism in the air on Tuesday. The pace is still slow but we're feeling a bit anxious to get something started as we approach Wednesday morning's Sagittarius Full Moon. The Full Moon on Wednesday pulls us in opposing directions — intellect vs. emotions. It isn't easy to ground the energy in any sort of tangible process but the scattering of our thoughts opens up a myriad of new perspectives. The Moon is VOC for most of the day on Thursday and there are temporary stumbling blocks that slow down our 'journey of discovery'. Friday's Venus-Mercury conjunction infuses creative inspiration into the mix as we head into the retrograde Mercury. There is a strong desire on the part of some of us to take charge or aggressively assert control and somehow 'stop the madness'. A desire to take control is likely to be a symptom of the fear of letting go and losing control.
