Mercury-South Node - Vulnerable Communication

The spontaneity and unpredictability of last week pours over into this week. Scattered energy is mixed with idealistic independence and the results could be explosive. The biggest danger comes from aggressive self-righteousness which holds on too tightly to self-sufficiency. The challenge is to develop creative alliances where we are free to follow our own course but also remain open to taking help and input from others. Intellect and creative vision are strong but we shouldn't cut ourselves off from the possibility that others can have great (but different) ideas too! Mercury approaches a conjunction with the South Node in Aquarius. Mercury-South Node conjunctions can make communication particularly cumbersome and erratic. Honesty and humility is needed to counteract the vulnerability that we might feel when we're trying to get our message across. We may not really wish to cut ourselves off but it isn't easy to make productive connections when we have this idealistic vision that feels like it's under assault.

We need to keep the means in line with the ends on Sunday. There is a temptation to use purposeful charm to cover up self-righteousness in order to manipulate others and improve our own position. Monday's VOC Moon keeps productive cooperation at bay — no matter how much charm we try to employ. Things get more aggressive on Tuesday but we may be easily slipped up by unforeseen events or circumstances that weaken our position. Humility is easier to come by on Wednesday and there are important opportunities to clear the air and make deep, valuable connections. There's a resurgence of independent self-righteousness on Thursday, under the Mercury-South Node conjunction, when strong but impulsive egos may quickly lose sight of the big picture. Idealism finally softens on Friday and sympathies are aroused. We can more clearly identify the importance of strengthening connections with others and separate from the tendency to maintain total self-sufficiency. Nonetheless, we could still find ourselves in over our heads on Saturday by succumbing to a temptation to take unnecessary risks in order to promote our own agenda — especially if we haven't fully recognized the value of this week's lessons pointing us towards cooperative effort.
