Mercury in Pisces
Mercury in Pisces - Visionary Confusion
"The past is never where you think you left it."
— Katherine Anne Porter
Last Wednesday's Pisces New Moon (6:03 AM PST 15° Pisces), occurring just as Mercury turned retrograde, set us off on a review of our past — our past successes, our past failures, and our past experiences in general. We may even find ourselves looking back into our ancestral past for some relevant clues about our current situations and challenges. The potential for confusion is significant and we may find ourselves battling shadows — ghosts of regret and lost opportunities. In essence, we are struggling to free ourselves from the blind spots, produced from our past experiences, that are holding us back from pursuing our creative vision. There continues to be an extraordinary amount of idealism. We may find ourselves creating unnecessary chaos when desperation or frustration results from our inability to move forward with our vision. In fact, the current retrograde Mercury in Pisces is more about clearing and restoring our vision and inspiration, rather than setting up the structures and processes to actually move forward. Mars trines Saturn this week, which helps us to maintain a reasonable amount of self-discipline. However, we may also feel an increased sense of responsibility to show tangible progress. By recognizing and honoring the process of grounding our creative vision in the depth of our experiences, we are actually following a powerfully responsible path. There is no doubt that much of what is going on this week is happening deep in our subconscious. By approaching the process with heightened awareness, we will begin to find exciting new ideas, inspiration, and increasing creative freedom.
Sunday encourages us to fall back into a dream world of safety. Our imagination is inspired but potentially over optimistic or idealistic. Emotional safety is preferred over reality. We need to pay attention to the subtle, emotional overtones at work on Monday or risk becoming quite frustrated. Although the path may not seem complicated, we may not fully understand the full picture. There is some danger of stretching ourselves too thin. We recognize some important blind spotson Tuesday. However, we need more than idealistic illusions to guide us around the holes in our intellectual though process. Emotional confusion reaches a plateau on Wednesday in an especially chaotic and uncertain environment. We gain a glimpse of emotional stability and freedom on Thursday, bringing many exciting new ideas into view. There is a feeling of adventure in the air on Friday, even though there continues to be a lack of clarity or certainty. The atmosphere is quite congenial.. Most of the important activity on Saturday takes place in our subconscious mind as we struggle to break free of the chains of our past.
