Mars-Saturn Conjunction
Mars-Saturn Conjunction - Determined Individuality
"Every one is worthy of love, except him who thinks that he is. Love is a
sacrament that should be taken kneeling."— Oscar Wilde, De Profundis
A Mars-Saturn conjunction increases the pressure this week and has the potential to feed paranoia, especially when Mars passes Saturn and conjuncts Juno, later in the week. A sense of entitlement has the potential to lead us far astray if we begin to believe that we aren't getting our 'fair share'. The impetus from last Thursday's Aries New Moon (11:24 PM PDT 11° Aries) has encouraged us to express our unique, independent, individuality but we may have difficulty balancing that impetus with something approaching humility and gratitude for the unique gifts and blessings that others are seeking to display. The forming Jupiter-Neptune conjunction, which won't complete until next week, begins to stir inspiration and creativity. However, we may quickly fall prey to the temptation to 'grab all the goodies we can get', forgetting to apply any gratitude or humility to what may seem like 'blessings from above'. Venus arrives in Pisces on Tuesday, where her creativity and sense of beauty is exalted. However, the Mars-Saturn conjunction may create a number of slowdowns or seemingly petty restrictions, which can quickly lead to frustration and explosive outbursts. We may come to believe that it is others who are blocking our expression and the resulting paranoia could become quite debilitating. If we lose our balance here, we may resort to 'finger pointing', seeing 'imagined ills', rather than understanding that the slowdowns may actually be keeping us from heading off on the wrong course. Self-discipline is required to harness the conflicting energies of Mars and Saturn. Recklessness or arrogance can easily disrupt the gentle waves of creativity that are flowing through this atmosphere. The more that we can actively 'give credit where credit is due', the easier it will be to avoid the selfish impulsiveness that will stem the tide of blessings that are offered. This is not the time to try to 'push the river' or work towards manipulating outcomes to serve our individual aims and goals. Of course, we should not tip too far in the other direction either by giving up on all our unique insights in some kind of misguided martyrdom. Self-control and balance are the keys to riding this extremely potent environment where many dreams can indeed begin to come true.
The sense of purpose that we feel on Sunday will propel us forward but we need to guard against seeing 'imagined ills' and threatening shadows that seem to slow us down. The slowdowns may actually be for our protection. We need self-discipline and a clear-eyed perspective on Monday. The 'steam power' is extraordinary but needs to be carefully managed and controlled. Venus arrives in Pisces on Tuesday and we begin to feel the intensity of the pressure ease a bit. However, we may begin to look around and feel some concern that we aren't getting our 'fair share'. Wednesday's surprises require some extra faith. Self-indulgence and moodiness alternate with ambition and ego-based self-confidence. Thursday's positive attitude begins to create tangible progress. However, we cannot 'push the river' in order to get even more 'goodies'. Grasping for more will stop the flow. Friday's pitfalls are recklessness and arrogance. We may feel emboldened to make demands when we'll do better to show gratitude and humility. We need to balance independence with some awareness of our need for others on Saturday. We may try to obscure self-doubts and uncertainty with false bravado.
