Leo New Moon

Leo New Moon - Be Yourself!

"Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house.
"

— Matthew 5:15

Venus leaves practical Virgo this week and moves into charming and creative Libra, setting a tone that may leave us less practical and prone to perfectionism. The Sun and Mercury's square to Jupiter increases idealism and may inspire over-optimism. However, Uranus turns retrograde in Taurus, increasing a desire for security — even though we want the freedom to do our own thing. The early part of the week may bring some determined, ego-invested, bluster. However, Mercury's inferior conjunction with the Sun on Wednesday offers a watershed of creativity which begins to lessen the brashness and ego investment, while encouraging us to share the light of our creative vision for the benefit of all. There are 3 days this week during which the Moon is VOC all day, which is likely to produce some frustrating stops and starts and the feeling that we're spinning our wheels. We may also be tempted to build up a residue of overly idealistic expectations or find that we've become excited by what turns out to only be mirages or 'pipe dreams'. Nonetheless, we reach an extraordinarily creative Leo New Moon on Saturday (5:57 AM PDT 18° Leo) that helps us to step back from unrealistic, ego-driven bravado and focus more directly on implementing our creative vision and expressing ourselves with less concern about how our presentation will be received by others.

Sunday's productive creativity may be blurred by excessive pride and bravado but an element of practicality serves to keep us on track for most of the day. Monday's Gemini Moon and Venus' arrival in Libra creates a rather zealous idealism that could quickly go overboard without responsibility and awareness. We should watch out for 'getting out over our skis' on Tuesday. Information is particularly unreliable and we may find ourselves embarrassed and disappointed on Wednesday when we realize we've fallen for something foolish. However, we need to let it go quickly in order to take advantage of Wednesday's watershed of creative inspiration as Mercury reaches the inferior conjunction with the Sun and the Moon sets off a Grand Water trine with Jupiter and Neptune. Another extended VOC Moon on Thursday leaves our emotions a bit unsettled. Nonetheless, sensitivity and compassion lead to important conversations. By Friday, the seeds of the New Moon are being sown. The brashness and bravado dissipates as we become fully entranced by creative vision and inspiration. Saturday's Leo New Moon is followed by another extended VOC Moon. However, the void that is created by inertia will soon be filled by tangible, practical progress in the days to come.
