Mercury Stationary Direct

Mercury Stationary Direct - Newfound Humility

"I saw the angel in the marble and carved until I set him free."

— Michelangelo

The shifts and turns are subtle this week — important but potentially imperceptible if we don't know what to look for. By the end of the week, Mercury will turn direct. Mars moves back into practical Capricorn ahead of the end of it's retrograde motion on August 27th. Although the tension of the Mars-Uranus square dissipates somewhat, Mercury stationary direct squares Jupiter, keeping our heads swirling with a multitude of ideas and very little support to actually put them into action. Nonetheless, there are plenty of opportunities for organization and planning, providing room to prepare for the time, very soon, when we will finally gain some traction and once again make forward progress. With the reduction in overall tensions, we may find ourselves having the time to look around and wonder (or worry) about how others are seeing us. However, we will do much better to set aside any concern over our appearance to the outside world and spend more time this week working on how we see ourselves — our self image. Even though we reach the potent 1st quarter phase of a highly creative lunar cycle, we may easily find ourselves losing faith and beginning to vacillate as we look for evidence of forward momentum that we just can't see yet.

The practical Virgo Moon on Sunday provides excellent support for planning, organization and even some purging of unnecessary debris. Practical productivity continues on Monday as the Moon trines Pluto and moves towards a trine to Mars (now in Capricorn). Although some may lose confidence, there are opportunities to glimpse the grand Divine Perspective which helps us to better understand the importance and value of the frustration and slow downs we've dealt with for the past few weeks. On Tuesday, we may begin to have some out-sized concerns over how we appear to others. Rather than spend our energy pleasing others, we'll do better to work on our self-image and find ways to boost our self-esteem. Wednesday's energy is likely to create more confusion than clarity. We need to guard against glossing over any discrepancies. We may hit a wall on Thursday and we should be prepared to take a break, step back and regroup. We may find ourselves a bit disillusioned by Friday, feeling as through we haven't made any progress. Nonetheless, even though we may be feeling stuck, we should look for a way to look over our goals once more. The uncertainty may be paralyzing but, even though our goals seem far away, we need to hold tight to them and have faith that the opportunities will eventually materialize. The Moon arrives in Sagittarius on Saturday with Mercury stationary direct. There is a distinct sense of optimism, which encourages social interaction. However, we'll do better to stay true to ourselves rather than try to please others in order to maintain a social standing.
