Mars-Pluto Opposition- Examining Our Roots
"Whatever you do will be insignificant, but it is very important that you do it."
—Mahatma Gandhi
The creative energy and determination builds all week as the Mars-Pluto opposition builds in intensity. Oppositions require us to find balance. This week, that balance is most likely to be found by establishing a channel for a creative outlet of some kind. The Mars-Pluto opposition will not culminate until the beginning of next week. However, Mercury conjuncts Mars this week, ahead of a mid-week standoff with Pluto. Mercury in Cancer can produce intense concern over those who are closest to us but, in this environment, concern could lead to manipulation or controlling behavior. Pluto, on the Capricorn side of the standoff, seems to represent challenges from the 'Status Quo' or established order. Rather than seeking to control or manipulate the situation, we will want to look for creative outlets where we can channel our energy and concerns. Ultimately, this is a highly creative environment with profound potential for achievement but we'll need to sidestep or even ignore a number of quite tempting distractions in order to make the most of it.
Sunday provides the spark for creative exploration through a desire to take risks in order to escape restriction. However, we should not ignore or forget to honor the past, even as we are seeking to move beyond it. Will power enhances creative determination on Monday. The optimism helps us manifest enough patience to carefully examine every piece of the puzzle. Challenges from the 'Status Quo' crop up on Tuesday. As we begin to feel the increasing intensity, we should heed any warnings. Determination could tip over into obsession on Wednesday. There is a strong sense of mission in the air. The Moon is VOC for most of the day on Thursday, when concern over those closest to us could lead us towards restriction rather than productive assistance. Friday initiates the First Quarter building phase of the current lunar cycle. There is a strong urge to hole up, isolate or seek a quiet corner where we can pursue whatever creative elements have captured our imagination. The Moon triggers the Mars/Pluto opposition on Saturday, producing uncertainty in a particularly demanding atmosphere where action seems imperative. Nonetheless, we'll be better off if we can manage to 'keep our powder dry' and focus on staying connected to basic principles.
