Summer Solstice
Weekly Horoscope: June 18 - June 24

Summer Solstice - Examining Our Roots

"You find peace not by rearranging the circumstances of your life, but by realizing who you are at the deepest level."
—Eckhart Tolle

"Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you."
—Luke 17:21

According to Hindu legend, Brahma hid human divinity in the center of our being "for humans will never think to look for it there." This week's trail of breadcrumbs may offer some of us the prospect of finding it after all, especially following Friday's New Moon (2° Cancer 7:30 PM PDT). The Summer Solstice on Tuesday, marking the Sun's arrival into Cancer, produces a profound interest in antiquity, heritage and our roots. Although the Sign of Cancer can sometimes encourage a closed circle of family ties and an Us vs. Them mentality, this week's energy opens up new dimensions to the understanding and awareness of a larger sense of family. At least some of us may begin to understand how the intertwining roots of history and heritage provide opportunities for connection rather than separation. As our focus shifts to an inner connection to our roots and our heritage, we may discover a wealth of important new insights, not just about ourselves but about how we are connected to the entirety of humanity. Not that there aren't plenty of obstacles and distractions to navigate this week. However, if we can manage to stay focused on our inner seeking, the possibilities are quite promising!

Sunday's thirst for new information brings hope that we can rebuild some shattered belief structures in new and exciting ways. The Moon's arrival in Taurus on Monday afternoon inspires creative expression, which helps to alleviate indecision. The Sun arrives in Cancer on Tuesday, marking the Summer Solstice. Confidence is hard won, requiring detachment in order to make the most of the new perspectives that are revealed. Mercury arrives in Cancer on Wednesday, further enhancing the broader humanitarian perspective that the sign is capable of. Thursday presents a distracting swirl of new information. Although we may try to remain broad minded, we may end up wasting precious time looking for something that just isn't there. Friday evening's New Moon brings a powerful dose of intuitive insight but we may need to be careful of alienating close allies in our pursuit of a broader vision. Fear is the biggest obstacle on Saturday as we stand on the threshold of an entirely new realm of understanding.
