Mars-Jupiter Conjunction- Adventurousness

This week culminates with a Mars-Jupiter conjunction in Scorpio that builds throughout the week. That planetary combination increases our sense of adventurousness and encourages a gambling instinct — and possibly yields a little luck. However, in Scorpio, we are inclined to keep our activity and intentions behind the scenes, skeptical about what may happen if we share too much about what we're thinking — or even whatever luck we find. There is plenty of determination in this atmosphere but the forming Venus-Sun-Pluto conjunction in Capricorn (culminating January 9th) lays a thin, velvet glove of charm over our iron fisted determination. We may have significant concern over our appearance or the perfection of our presentation. As Mercury in Sagittarius moves through the shadow of the past retrograde period, we have the opportunity to communicate the truths we have discovered following the reexamination of some faulty, underlying assumptions that we have discarded. Ultimately, this speculative atmosphere is challenging us to reveal our new view of truth — an exhilarating but seemingly risky process. By first being true to ourselves, we will gain increasing courage to successfully display our truth to others.

We may see some rather odd behavior surface on Sunday, driven by feeling misunderstood. However, there is little inclination to share much about what's really going on. The New Year's day Full Moon (6:24 PM PST 11° Cancer/Capricorn) on Monday offers strong intuition but continues the tendency to keep what we're really feeling under wraps. Uranus turns direct on Tuesday, which begins to help us turn the corner towards more determined independence and change — but we still don't want to talk about it. Wednesday's Leo Moon pushes out on stage and so, whether we want to talk about it our not, the spotlight is on us. If our performance doesn't meet our personal standard, we may push our frustration even deeper under cover. However, by Thursday, we're increasingly aware that our secrets and hidden agendas are holding us back and leading to significant discomfort. Friday finally brings a more direct approach. Success is an inside job, dependent on our personal level of self-esteem and inner confidence. Mercury trines Uranus on Saturday, bringing us forward with a new message of our truth and helping us to discover and share the lessons we learned under the last retrograde Mercury.
