The beginning of this week features an encouraging Grand Earth trine with the Moon's transit through Virgo highlighting the trines of both Mars and Mercury in Capricorn to Uranus in Taurus. Mars-Mercury trine Uranus provides courage and confidence and a welcome boost of optimism. We can sense that we may indeed have the capacity to adapt to the new landscape — the 'New Era' we are embarking on. However, there are unmistakable signs that there is an undercurrent of hostility or resentment which needs to be processed before we can make the kind of progress that we are looking for. Impatience or impulsiveness tempts us to push ahead recklessly. Some of us are looking for one 'quick strike' that will propel us ahead. It's easy to get out 'over our skis' or find ourselves facing 'the law of diminishing returns' by pushing too hard. Our energy is quickly dissipated when we try to sidestep the necessary, methodical process of clearing away debris of the past — hostility or resentments. At some points, we may try to use brute force rather than paying attention to the subtle messages that remind us that patience and humility can produce a far more comfortable, cooperative environment. There is, indeed, great promise in this week's atmosphere. We are offered gentle reminders of how to make use of our past experiences and basic abilities within this new environment. But impulsiveness will quickly lead us down dead ends of discouragement and side track our efforts. This week's waning lunar cycle is offering us important opportunities to release old wounds, hostilities and resentments in order to prepare for a new round of progress under next week's Aquarius New Moon (February 9, 2024 2:58 PM PST 20° Aquarius) which will square Uranus. Chiron is approaching a healing conjunction with the North Node in Aries, which will complete under the next lunar cycle, providing us clear evidence of a 'New Spring'. While we may be 'straining at the bit' this week, there is plenty of encouragement and plenty of opportunities to recognize the value in a methodical, cooperative approach. This is not 'the light at the end of the tunnel'. In fact, we are 'out of the tunnel and into the light'. The challenge now is to adapt to the light.

We find a remarkably grounded atmosphere on Sunday. Waves of confidence encourage optimism. By Monday, we may be tempted to take the optimism a bit too far, getting 'out over our skis'. There may be some inclination to 'strain at gnats' and dissipate our energy. There is some hope of finding more balance on Tuesday. However, there is still significant impulsiveness and the likelihood of some hidden hostility buried just beneath the surface. A tendency to rely on brute force on Wednesday makes it difficult to recognize the important subtleties in the environment which are encouraging a more gentle approach. We are tempted to take a quick, 'lucky strike' rather than stick with a more methodical approach. The impulsive fever breaks on Thursday and we can see more clearly the scope of effort that is required. There is more focus on developing cooperation and collaboration. We find an inspiring sense of purpose on Friday that helps us develop a broader perspective and a more measured approach. We can more easily see the need for an orderly approach. Our focus is steadied on Saturday. It is easier to blend intention with effort.
