Leo Full Moon
Leo Full Moon - New Leaders
"The Osage have this lovely phrase: 'Travelers in the Mist.' It was the term for part of an Osage clan that would take the lead whenever the tribe was venturing into unfamiliar realms."
— David Grann
We are likely to struggle with disorientation and feelings of vulnerability this week. The effects may keep us on edge and potentially put us on the defensive. What is most difficult to understand is how important it is to reach out and connect with those around us. Our vulnerabilities may tend to keep us feeling as though we need to isolate — stay locked in our 'cocoons' rather than embrace the new freedom that we are being offered. Both Mars and Mercury square Chiron this week, which gives us gentle but firm 'shoves' out of our isolation although there may be some erratic behavior, emotional outbursts, and awkwardness as a result. Mars and Mercury make a second conjunction this week, following their squares to Chiron. The last Mercury-Mars conjunction, last month when Mercury was retrograde, was in boisterous, 'loud-mouth' Sagittarius. This week's conjunction, in Capricorn is far more considered and thoughtful, offering more productive avenues of communication. Venus makes her move into Capricorn early in the week, which is also helpful in stabilizing our self-confidence and keeping us seriously focused on making connections to those around us. Thursday's Leo Full Moon (5° Leo/Aquarius 9:53 AM PST) is tightly square to Jupiter and the tense imperatives seem to demand that we 'figure it all out' — a 'tall order'. The fixed sign square of the Full Moon holds things together in ways that may feel quite uncomfortable, further encouraging isolation or stubbornness. What ever we can do to remind ourselves of our inherent worth and build our self-confidence will help us to find the courage to reach out. But we need to be willing to take the first step. In this new environment, 'Community Connection' is where we will discover the most strength and courage but those connections won't happen until we become willing to open up and let others know what we're feeling and — essentially — be honest about who we are. We are entering an era where truth and honesty will be rewarded magnificently. But if we 'lie, even when the truth will serve us better', the struggles will seem to be endless.
We may spend time 'looking back' on Sunday, trying to figure out how we've arrived where we are. There is a dreamy quality that may feel quite disorienting. We're prone to 'stirring the pot' on Monday, which only increases defensiveness. The later part of the day could be quite uncomfortable. There is some potential to begin to unwind the feelings of disorientation and defensiveness on Tuesday. Even though the atmosphere may feel somewhat 'crisis-driven', resolutions are forced through persistent effort. A Moon-Neptune trine on Wednesday afternoon may obscure some of the ongoing challenges. However, we should stay alert for any shifts. Thursday's Leo Full Moon creates an imperative to better understand our situation. There is a subtle, gentle but insistent push to build self-worth and self-confidence. The push to open up about how we're feeling becomes even more insistent on Friday. However, some may become rather erratic and only be able to muster an awkward attempt to be honest about their feelings. There may be some jarring moments on Saturday but communication begins to flow more easily. We find increasing encouragement to open up to those around us.
