Mars in Sagittarius
Mars in Sagittarius - Strong Beliefs
"No, no! The adventures first, explanations take such a dreadful time."
— Lewis Carroll
We reach the potent 1st quarter building phase of the lunar cycle we began last week. We are encouraged to define our convictions, present our conclusions, and move forward with determination. There are undercurrents of excitement all week but the challenges are significant — particularly with maintaining focused awareness. Idealism runs into practicality; stoic, independent determination is challenged by the obvious need for cooperation and compromise. There is no substitute for patience and methodical thinking — but we are tempted to look for shortcuts anyway. Detachment is a valuable quality but could lead us too far off course, trying to claim we just don't care. Creative solutions are available but require responsible follow-through. While our plans may be 'shovel ready' somebody's still got to pick up a shovel and do the digging. Mars arrives in Sagittarius by the end of the week, increasing convictions while dissipating our reserve of patience. With Mars in Sagittarius, conflicts may reach a boiling point and our responses may be disproportionate. Nonetheless, the stoic determination of the Capricorn New Moon continues to push us forward, even though this week's challenges may seem overwhelming.
We may have a hard time keeping our feet on the ground and our heads out of the clouds on Sunday. We are challenged to relinquish unimportant details in order to pursue the larger vision. Monday's Aries Moon serves to get us stirred up, producing significant excitement and a broadly optimistic atmosphere. However, by Tuesday, we run into a few power plays that reveal some overreach, over optimism, and the tendency to make impulsive snap judgements that don't serve our overall goals. Energy is more controlled on Wednesday. The Mercury-Pluto conjunction sharpens our intellectual capacity to deftly move past obstacles. The need for patience is most prevalent on Thursday as we find ourselves pulled in opposing directions. Any residual conflicts could reach a boiling point on Friday, once Mars arrives in Sagittarius and unleashes a desire to speak directly to any opposing viewpoints. Our feet are held to the fire on Saturday. Progress may seem to be much more difficult than it ought to be. Curiosity may lead us into dangerous waters before we realize what's happened. We'll do better keeping our nose to the grindstone instead of trying to claim we don't really care 'that much' or letting our curiosity lead us towards a dead end.
