Capricorn New Moon
Capricorn New Moon - Planning
"Give me six hours to chop down a tree and I will spend the first four sharpening the axe."
— Abraham Lincoln
This week's activity turns on Tuesday's highly precipitous Capricorn New Moon (6:17 PM 26° Capricorn). Rather than actually signaling a 'fresh start', the Capricorn influence is inspired and informed by previously laid plans and foundational work that has been methodically put in place during the past few weeks. This Capricorn lunar cycle will culminate at the end of the month (January 31st 11° Leo/Aquarius), ruled by a determined Uranian energy aimed at effecting broad, surprising changes. As we embark on this trek towards our changing future, we find intuitive clues to follow, leading us into a vastly changed landscape. It may be quite easy to become caught up in extenuating circumstances which threaten to distort or derail our efforts. Some may feel that their treatment is not fair or equitable. Nonetheless, any impulsive attempt to express frustration is met with surprisingly determined push back that keeps the gears moving and the overall arc of change unswayed. Venus and the Sun both arrive in Aquarius this week, helping to bring a level of detachment that smooths over some of the uncomfortable adjustments and provides some room for productive communication.
The Moon arrives in Capricorn before noon on Sunday and the Sun squares Uranus. A new foundational framework begins to become apparent. Jupiter sextiles Pluto on Monday, further expanding the roll out of a significant shift in established guidelines. Intuitive clues help us to bridge the past and the future. Tuesday's Capricorn New Moon may lead some to experience the feeling of a fresh start. However, the precipitous atmosphere is well supported by previously laid groundwork, the importance of which is simply becoming more obvious. Venus joins the Moon is Aquarius on Wednesday, helping to provide an extra level of detachment, which makes the required adjustments much easier. Concerns over the lack of equitable treatment surface on Thursday. However, there is a surprising willingness to sacrifice whatever is necessary to overcome any obstacles and keep things on track. Friday provides a temporary 'timeout'. Any continued concern over equitable treatment is set aside by a willingness to focus on larger issues and abandon petty personal concerns. Some may feel particularly disconnected or adrift on Saturday, especially if there is too much attention paid to extenuating circumstances. In the end, we have little choice but to adapt to the wave of changes underway this week.
