Leo Full Moon - Creativity Unleashed

"There is a fountain of youth: it is your mind, your talents, the creativity you bring to your life and the lives of people you love. When you learn to tap this source, you will truly have defeated age."

— Sophia Loren

This Wednesday's Leo Full Moon (8:56 AM PST 27° Leo/Aquarius) unleashes a great deal of creativity but it may be tinged with defensiveness and perhaps even obsession, produced by the Moon's quincunx to Pluto in Capricorn. The sensitive Leo's ego vulnerabilities may be exposed when the strong Capricorn influences pose questions about things like 'practicality' and 'pragmatism'. However, the pressure and intensity can serve to produce remarkable breakthroughs when we are able to manifest enough detachment to open up our creative inspiration to the input of others. A potent Mars-Venus conjunction and a stirring Jupiter-Uranus sextile are inspiring but don't offer us much patience with questions, skepticism, or alternate perspectives. What is helpful, though, is Mercury's arrival in Aquarius on Monday, which encourages us to open up to an exchange of ideas and inspiration. Essentially, the opportunities for cooperation and collaboration are 'on the table' but we need to be willing to risk a leap of faith in order to share our creativity and inspired vision honestly. If we spend too much effort trying to shape our message so that it is favorably received by the skeptical pragmatists, we are likely to be disappointed. Defensiveness and a retreat to some kind of isolation is more likely to cut us off from the sources of our creativity, leaving us with only our impatience and resentments. The Sun arrives in Pisces by Friday and we can begin to show some patience and compassion. We can more easily appreciate differing perspectives and gain more insight into the value of the questions being raised. If we can move away from impatience, we are likely to recognize that at least some of the defensiveness that we have felt has been the result of simple misunderstandings. If we can listen with enough detachment, we will recognize the value of the input we are hearing and begin to see how this week's intense pressure has produced diplomatic openings to productive collaboration, bringing together different perspectives in order to find marvelous 'win-win' solutions. Essentially, this week's intensity and creative inspiration needs to be tempered with detachment, humility, and honesty. Once we can calm down enough to listen responsibly, our impatience and defensiveness will dissipate, allowing our creative vision to be nurtured through collaborative effort and broader support.

We are especially concerned about shaping our message on Sunday in order to put a favorable spin on anything that seems uncomfortable. This is a slippery slope that will ultimately weaken our position. A desire to 'look good' is increased on Monday under the Leo Moon. We feel increasing pressure to show our practicality, which has the effect of frustrating our creative 'flow'. It isn't easy to see the creative potential on Tuesday due to increasing pressure to conform or show our practicality. The Leo Full Moon on Wednesday unleashes a great deal of creative potential but we may be prone to defensiveness when we are questioned or meet with skepticism. The fact is that we need to match inspiration with solid, methodical effort. We continue to bristle at questions on Thursday and the feelings of restriction may produce rebelliousness or self-indulgence. The Sun arrives in Pisces on Friday, allowing room for more patience and more compassion for the perspectives of others. The importance of finding common ground and setting aside impatience becomes critical on Saturday. We need to step back from our defensiveness and open the doors to diplomatic breakthroughs which will offer opportunities for collaboration and broader support for our creativity and inspired vision.
