We begin the week with optimism but also perhaps a bit too much idealism that has us setting up expectations that won't necessarily be satisfied. Mercury has entered retrograde territory — in the shadow phase of the next Mercury retrograde period from July 7th through August 1st. We may be prone to bombast and exaggeration after Mercury arrives in Leo on Wednesday. However, once Mercury returns to Cancer on July 19th, we may be inclined to regret some of this exaggeration. The week begins with some extra 'light' as the Moon reaches the 1st quarter phase of the current lunar cycle. There is a classic conflict between intellect and emotion this week. Exciting ideas are steaming out of the Mars-Neptune trine and Jupiter-Neptune square. However, emotional vulnerabilities and uncertainty also get pumped into the atmosphere by the Mars-Saturn opposition, which demands self-discipline.
