Mars Square Uranus
Mars Square Uranus - Free Radicals
"That which neither weapon nor flame could accomplish will be achieved by a sweet speaking tongue in council."
—Nostradamus
The week is essentially dominated by the building and culminating Mars square Uranus — but there's a wrinkle in this highly energizing square. Mercury turns retrograde on Sunday and is tightly wound up with Mars square to Uranus. All three planets are in fixed signs and so the heightened energy is also likely to produce a great deal of frustration. Self-restraint and self discipline are needed. The extended Mars-Mercury conjunction in Leo is prone to exaggeration and bombastic pronouncements in pursuit of self-aggrandizement. We may find ourselves wrapped up in a struggle to gain approval and acknowledgment. And, in fact, there are more wrinkles in this mixture, which are the oppositions of the Sun to both Saturn and Pluto that are also occurring this week. This is likely to stir up some challenging power struggles along with feelings that people and/or circumstances are aligned against us. In this case, it is our strong desire to show off our achievements that is drawing our focus and distracting us from more productive efforts. Oh! One more wrinkle: Chiron also turns retrograde this week, trining the Mars-Mercury conjunction. This will actually help us to understand the overall message that the Universe is sending us. The message is that we need to gain greater appreciation of the efforts of others instead of demanding acknowledgement for our own efforts. Ultimately, with some luck, we will be able to blend our efforts with the efforts of others and develop new pathways for cooperative alliances. Near the end of the week, we gain a bit of optimism and self-confidence that offers us extra space to initiate those alliances and draw people together around a common vision and a common purpose.
The week begins with the beginning of the retrograde phase of Mercury in a tight conjunction with Mars. Personal approval is sought, possibly through some exaggeration. However the Moon is VOC for most of the day on Sunday. Chiron turns retrograde on Monday, beginning a process that will help us to appreciate the effort and struggle of others. Tuesday brings a critical 1st quarter of the lunar cycle. Power struggles and a crisis-driven atmosphere keep many of us pretty wound up. Wednesday offers a powerful opportunity to 'Speak Truth to Power and bring people together around a common vision. We turn an important corner on Thursday and we begin to feel some enthusiasm for a broader perspective. However, the Mars-Uranus square is set off by the Scorpio Moon and emotions may boil over with frustration. Friday's optimism brings a boost of productive energy. We may begin to set aside some family and societal conditioning in favor of new ideas and new approaches. Optimism continues into Saturday but we may feel our self-confidence wane a bit once we get to the later part of the day.
