The week begins with Sunday's highly intellectual Capricorn New Moon (10:33 AM PST 12° Capricorn). The New Moon trines Uranus which supercharges our mental/intellectual capacity with quick thinking and clever wit and inspires us to seek freedom from old and outmoded restrictions. As well, Mercury's entrance into Aquarius boosts our ability to think 'outside the box' and bring forward innovative new ideas. We are now in the waning phase of last year's Saturn-Uranus conjunction and this week's Capricorn New Moon seems to point us towards making tangible, innovative progress. We begin to see new opportunities to implement our new ideas. However, our expectations may begin to race ahead of the actual facts. We need to acknowledge that the residue of old structures remain, producing challenges and roadblocks that need to be dealt with. There are still plenty of restrictions, some of which may seem arbitrary and spurious. Determination and perseverance, coupled with the heightened intellectual capacity, may have us believing that we should use cleverness to sidestep the obstacles and restrictions. We may tend to doubt the necessity of any restrictions, responding to any push-back with the determination to take a stand in the face of all odds. The New Moon's trine to freedom-loving Uranus inspires us to break away from old and outmoded structures. The retrograding Venus reaches the inferior conjunction with the Sun at the end of the week in a tight conjunction with Juno. Juno's influence increases a demand for fairness and many of this week's restrictions may not seem fair to us. At times, it may seem that our determination begins to turn into obstinance or stubbornness when we aren't willing to accept the restrictions that we face. Humility will help us to determine what restrictions may be valuable guardrails which we need to honor and what are truly arbitrary obstacles that are hold overs from outdated structures of the past. The involvement of Juno encourages us to parse the specifics of the restrictions and obstacles that we face, looking for loopholes and inconsistencies. But we will need to take a broader and more philosophical view if we hope to bring others along with us in our determination to innovate and build new structures for the future. In order to enlist broad support, we must be sure that our responses are meaningful and tempered with awareness and compassion.

Sunday's Capricorn New Moon boosts intellect and clever wit. However, we should guard against a feeling of superiority when we begin to feel the surge of mental clarity. We may encounter a great deal of disorganization on Monday. Restrictions seem arbitrary and create hostility. The feeling of something new permeates Tuesday's environment. Hostility and frustration will expose weakness. It is important to stay positive on Wednesday. Much can be accomplished by quietly taking a stand. The amount of determination that we see on Thursday may take some by surprise. If there is too much push back, there may be significant conflict. We'll do better to stick with further investigation on Friday, rather than settling in to a feeling of certainty that could be exposed as delusion over the next week. It is especially important to make a meaningful response to any restrictions we feel on Saturday. We may discover that there are important elements that aren't obvious, making the restrictions we're facing seem more important and valuable.
