Jupiter in Pisces - Confidence
"But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you."
— Matthew 6:33
The Moon is waning in light all week, ahead of next week's Capricorn New Moon (January 2, 2022 10:33 AM PST 12° Capricorn), continuing to keep us from getting a tangible foothold or feeling like we're making material progress. Our emotions run the gamut from wild optimism and unrealistic idealism to intense frustration and impatience. The most notable shift in tone is produced by Jupiter's return to Pisces on Tuesday. We felt the effects of Jupiter in Pisces from May 13th through July 28th. We may recognize the echoes from that earlier period this week, producing an optimism that encourages us to move forward with confidence. However, restrictions continue to slow us down even though the Saturn-Uranus square is beginning to wane. The ongoing retrograde Venus is likely to chip away at our optimism through skepticism and nagging questions about the reliability of our perspective. On Wednesday, Mercury reaches the shadow phase of the next retrograde Mercury period, which will occur from January 14th until February 3. At just the point of entering that shadow phase, Mercury makes a conjunction with the retrograde Venus as well as Pluto. These aspects push us to dig deeper and understand more about the restrictions and slowdowns we have been facing. Despite the sporadic feelings of optimism, we are not likely to see clear, tangible progress towards the kind of stabilization we would like to see this week. The most we find is a kind of 'scaffolding' in place, providing temporary stabilization. It is crucial that we use this time to seek a better understanding of what we need to see and do in order to envision and build new structures that will provide future stability and security. Old structures (guidelines, frameworks, expectations) have been deconstructed but there is little yet in place to replace them. Knowledge, clarity, and understanding is needed for us to make the right decisions about how to move forward. This is not a time when we should expect things to simply fall into place. We are required to dig deeply, face our fears, and recognize the blind spots that come out of our past. Shame, guilt, and inadequacy must be faced directly and cleared away — dispatched in order to clear the decks for better understanding of how we will choose to build our future. As we true up our perspective, the way forward will become clearer and our efforts begin to feel more productive.
Intuitive clues provide intriguing and tantalizing threads to follow on Sunday. The Libra Moon keeps the tone amiable and jovial. Sharp edges are exposed on Monday, seen in impatience or false bravado. Self-control and the willingness to listen politely will help us find our way forward. Optimism and self-confidence is fed by our intuition on Tuesday with the return of Jupiter in Pisces. We have a better idea of what is important and what can be safely discarded. A skeptical attitude dampens our optimism on Wednesday. We need to take a hard look at what will be needed in the new year in order to move forward more effectively. Thoughtful consideration or 'active meditation' on Thursday will help us broaden our perspective and see innovative new routes to follow. We should guard against over-optimistic goals. It is hard to keep a lid on unrealistic optimism on Friday. A feeling of freedom and a broad perspective is intoxicating. Optimism is reigned in by Saturday afternoon's Capricorn Moon. We face restrictions that we may not have anticipated.
