Weekly Horoscope: December 25 - 31
Capricorn New Moon - Redemption
This week begins (on Christmas Day) with the distinct challenges of the Mars/South Node conjunction, which can lead to profound disillusionment and extreme frustration. There are echoes from last month's Neptune/South Node conjunction. However, Wednesday's Capricorn New Moon (10:53 PM 7° Capricorn) offers profound redemption and a return to balance that is not structured and static but rather, dynamic and adaptable. The overarching aspects this week include Saturn sextiling Jupiter and trining Uranus, which is opposing Jupiter. That mouthful of aspects simply suggests a strong demand for change, inspired and supported by a wholly cooperative spirit. The New Moon provides the structural basis for cooperation and change but requires that we find a way to stay dynamically balanced and avoid becoming thrown off course by disillusionment, disappointment and frustration.
Christmas Day begins the week with a restrained but amiable social environment where superficiality is more comfortable than deep emotional intimacy. The Mars/South Node conjunction early Monday morning produces a vulnerability to disillusionment within a highly idealistic environment. Despite a desire to find deeper meaning or a larger purpose, individual initiatives are unable to find any traction and frustration may be the ultimate result. There is some danger of pushing too hard on Tuesday and we may be tempted to make one quick, clever maneuver to clear our path. However, we need to look for a way to get down to the 'causes and conditions' in order to understand any disappointment we're feeling. Wednesday's New Moon offers a profound opportunity for redemption in the recognition that the structures we believe we need for security are actually dysfunctional and need to be overhauled. There's a brand new perspective revealed on Thursday as Uranus turns direct but some may feel quite aimless or untethered once we've recognized the need to abandon what we thought we needed to keep for survival. Friday suggests some unsteady confusion and which could leave us spinning our wheels most of the day. By Saturday, the focus is squarely on finding and maintaining effective, dynamic balance. We end 2016 (a '9' year of endings and culminations) with an open and cooperative willingness to engage a variety of opinions and insights. The intensity of idealism must be balanced with adaptability and open-mindedness, especially as we enter 2017, a New '1' Year of new beginnings.
