Weekly Astrology Forecast: July 19 - July 25

There are a number of important factors at work this week, propelling us towards further, intense self-examination. As Venus slows down to turn retrograde on Saturday, we find our focus shifting towards our image and how others see us. However, it may be quite difficult to deal with the weaknesses that are revealed when Venus takes off her Rose Colored Glasses and we see our flaws in a stark, unfiltered light. Also this week, Mars is heading towards a square with Uranus, which culminates by the end of this week. Along with increasing the energy and tension in the environment, this square suggests a significant tendency towards defensiveness. Uranus is also turning retrograde early next week, inspiring an ongoing, personal effort to break free of restrictions and traditions. As if that isn't enough, the Jupiter/Saturn square is slowly building (culminating around August 3rd), which is draining our confidence levels and frustrating the energy of the Mars/Uranus square — adding to the tension. As we begin the week, the energy and strength of last Wednesday's New Moon (July 15th 23° Cancer/Capricorn) is still with us, keeping us focused on the painstaking process of checking every step in order to be sure of our position. Monday opens a door to some hidden spiritual resources that we may need in order to more gracefully maneuver through this week. The tension builds on Tuesday ahead of the Sun's move into Leo on Wednesday and many rely on bluff and bluster to cover up their panic when they begin to realize that the lights are coming up to reveal more flaws than they want to acknowledge. Saturday ends this week with a pressure cooker environment that calls for faith and the courage to acknowledge our flaws, no matter what others think.
