With some degree of awareness, we can begin to reestablish our balance today, following yesterday's rather destabilizing environment. Nonetheless, today's Sun-Chiron opposition and residual effect of the square from Jupiter, demands (rather than suggests) balance. In other words, we need to allow all of the freedom to others that we may be wanting for ourselves — without sacrificing our own position or perspective. This may not be a easy as we would like to think. Venus, now at home in Libra, would like to keep the peace so much that we may feel encouraged — or pressured — to 'go along to get along', without effectively protecting our own individual perspective. However, Mercury is heading into a conjunction with Mars that will complete at next Tuesday's Libra New Moon (5:24 AM PDT 28° Libra), suggesting that we may be prone to going too far in either direction — too aggressive or too conciliatory — without the necessary balance.

Weekly Summary

OCTOBER 12 - OCTOBER 18

"Disorder is inherent in stability. Civilized man doesn't understand stability. He's confused it with rigidity…
…True stability results when presumed order and presumed disorder are balanced. A truly stable system expects the unexpected, is prepared to be disrupted, waits to be transformed."

—Tom Robbins

The waning Moon actually helps to break down intransigence this week. Last week's Aries Full Moon (October 6, 8:47 PM PDT 14° Aries/Libra) may have stirred up a great deal of activity and determination but it has slowly developed into a kind of rigid inertia. However, we can begin to feel a developing Grand Water trine with Monday's Cancer Moon activating the forming Saturn-Jupiter trine. There are strong emotions — funneled through creativity, empathy, and intuition — that are wearing away rigidity in unpredictable ways. The Moon quietly and subtly highlights this slowly developing configuration that will strengthen through the end of this month as Mercury and Mars bring the Water sign energy to a 'boil'. Jupiter (in Cancer) and Saturn (in Pisces) are nearing an exact trine — not fully perfected until next year — which will be stirred to action by the motion of both Mercury and Mars in Scorpio — to form a Grand Water trine under the next lunar cycle that begins next Tuesday (October 21st). The quality of this week's energies under the increasingly prevalent Water Sign emphasis shifts our focus to the power of strong emotions — for better or worse. There are significant tendencies towards impulsiveness, along with heightened idealistic optimism that may be easily dashed or derailed. Nonetheless, as the Water sign energy begins to form 'cracks in the dam' of intransigence and rigidity, there are important opportunities for compromise and surprising breakthroughs. Venus arrives in Libra on Monday (2:18 PM PDT), forming another 'kite' configuration with Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto. The formation echoes the connections made by Mars (August 6th), Mercury (September 18th), and the Sun (September 22 — the Equinox). This last 'kite' formation of the year brings new breakthroughs and revelations. Also on Monday, Pluto officially stations direct, opening our path to remarkable, transformative opportunities. Later in the week, an intense, crisis-driven Sun-Jupiter-Chiron cardinal T-square demands that we find some kind of balance, allowing all of the freedom to others that we are wanting for ourselves — without sacrificing our own position or perspective. Venus, now at home in Libra, would like to keep the peace so much that we may feel encouraged — or pressured — to 'go along to get along', without effectively protecting our own individual perspective. Mercury is heading into a conjunction with Mars that will complete at next Tuesday's Libra New Moon (5:24 AM PDT 28° Libra), suggesting that we may be prone to going too far in either direction — too aggressive or too conciliatory — without the necessary balance. Despite the fact that the Moon is waning in light, this week's intensity certainly seems to 'keep us on our toes'. Ultimately, the key seems to be to stay balanced enough to lay a solid foundation for the new initiatives that will become available once we reach the new lunar cycle next Tuesday. Perhaps the biggest challenge that we face is effectively communicating our vision of those new initiatives to those around us. Responsibility, determination, and perseverance are all important to staying on track long enough to reach a New Beginning.

We may feel a bit 'talked out' on Sunday. Perhaps most important is to find ways to establish both intuitive and material 'fronts' in our attempt to break free of what ever feels 'stuck'. Monday's breakthroughs help us to push forward on goals — and even dreams — that may have seemed to stalled up to this point. A path to remarkable, transformative opportunities is opened. Many of Tuesday's opportunities can quickly slip through our fingers if we aren't 'paying attention'. While detachment can sometimes help us to see more clearly, there is some potential to dip into nihilistic fatalism and abandon our individual responsibility to stay engaged in the process. Communication is intensely challenging on Wednesday but offers important gains through perseverance. Finding an opening for some kind of compromise requires close attention and steady effort throughout the day. The increasingly heightened emotional atmosphere on Thursday is a 'double-edged sword', providing healing creativity but also potentially 'overflowing' in unpredictable ways. There is also an element of 'divine grace' that is activated, opening the door to extraordinarily powerful healing resolutions. With some degree of awareness, we can begin to reestablish our balance on Friday. We need to allow all of the freedom to others that we may be wanting for ourselves — without sacrificing our own position or perspective. The stakes are raised on Saturday for finding some kind of balanced approach. Perhaps the biggest challenge that we face is effectively communicating our vision of new initiatives to those around us.

Saturday October 18, 2025

Today's Moon-Saturn opposition (2:10 PM PDT) raises the stakes for finding some kind of balanced approach. The Sun is approaching a quincunx to Saturn that will complete tomorrow, suggesting that we will need to see 'around a blind corner' — or have enough faith — to move forward with any degree of confidence. Despite the fact that the Moon is waning in light, this week's intensity has certainly seemed to 'keep us on our toes'. Ultimately, the key seems to be to stay balanced enough to lay a solid foundation for the new initiatives that will become available once we reach the new lunar cycle on Tuesday. Perhaps the biggest challenge that we face is effectively communicating our vision of those new initiatives to those around us. Sunday October 19, 2025

The Moon's arrival in Libra last night shortly after 9 PM PDT may have sparked some sudden, overnight revelations which begin to unfold with this morning's Moon-Venus conjunction (11:25 AM PDT). Today's Venus-Pallas trine helps us to make the most of whatever revelations have surfaced. There is a quiet burst of individual confidence that needs to be carefully nurtured. Adding to our confidence, Mercury conjuncts Mars in Scorpio today, ahead of Tuesday morning's Libra New Moon (5:24 AM PDT 28° Libra). There seems to be little impulsiveness in this environment but rather, a significant propensity for careful planning. In essence, we're inclined to 'keep our powder dry' while taking careful aim.

Weekly Summary

OCTOBER 19 - OCTOBER 25

"Darkness cannot drive out darkness: only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate: only love can do that."

—Martin Luther King Jr.

Decisive, productive action requires considered, well-balanced 'judgement'. Tuesday morning's Libra New Moon (5:24 AM PDT 28° Libra) provides us with excellent capacity for such judgement. Following the New Moon, we make a distinct shift from Libra's discerning balance and judgement into a much more decisive and determined environment. The Moon quickly moves into Scorpio, after the New Moon, to make a demanding but transformative square to Pluto. The Sun follows up on on Wednesday — the same day that Neptune moves back into Pisces for one more 'dip' into the deep waters of compassion, empathy, and faith. This week's Water Sign energy is both emotional and cleansing. A Mercury-Mars conjunction in Scorpio at the beginning of the week may bring quiet confidence but is subtly challenged by the forming Jupiter-Chiron square — a highly idealistic configuration that is reminding us that our confidence must be built from the inside and balanced with honest, clear-eyed awareness. The potent shift into Scorpio energy certainly brings increased decisiveness but also suggests the shadow elements of Scorpio, such as vindictiveness and deep-seated resentments. Both the Scorpio Moon and Sun must move past the gauntlet of the squares to Pluto which opens the door to transforming any residual anger, bitterness, or resentment into a powerful basis for healing. But this is not a simple or easy process. The admonition to "love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you" (Mathew 5:44) can seem hopelessly weak and out of touch. We might consider that a Scorpion does not actually 'sting itself to death out of frustration' as the myth suggests. Nonetheless, the Scorpion's instinct to fight can lead to confusion, disorientation, and a loss of control. In the context of the sign of Scorpio, it is the loss of control that brings the ultimate terror — which is actually the fear of transformation. Holding on too tightly to fear, bitterness, anger and resentment in this week's environment can completely blind us to the powerfully transformative opportunities that are being offered. In our blindness we can feel completely out of control. Our confidence is likely to begin to dip this week but the powerful presence of Saturn and now Neptune in Pisces offers us a powerful connection to faith. By the end of the week, Mercury makes connections to both Jupiter in Cancer and Saturn in Pisces — a Grand Water Trine — which lays an intellectual foundation for the decisive actions that will be initiated next week when Mars takes the place of Mercury in the Grand Trine. The involvement of Jupiter in Cancer brings a strong concern for personal safety but, in a square to Chiron, also stirs powerful idealism and a heightened demand for individual freedom. Both Mercury and Mars are highlighting the lengthy, ongoing Jupiter-Saturn trine which will come to within 9 minutes of exact next month but not fully complete until next year. The underlying balance between enthusiasm (Jupiter) and control (Saturn) is extremely fortunate but should not be taken for granted. We have the opportunity to build a deep connection to 'like-minded' others and form a deeper sense of community that can help to support the confidence and sense of purpose that we are working so hard to stabilize this week.

We have support to make the most of the revelations that unfold on Sunday. There seems to be little impulsiveness in the environment but rather, a significant propensity for careful planning. Decisiveness is strangely lacking on Monday — we seem to be somewhat stuck in an information loop, looking for just one more 'tidbit' that will provide us with the certainty that we are seeking. Understanding how to balance external input with an internal 'sense of direction' is the challenge. Tuesday's activity opens the door to transforming any residual anger, bitterness, or resentment into a powerful basis for healing. The process that is initiated is likely to be far more complex than we realize. Restless impulsiveness can be quite overwhelming on Wednesday and there may not be a great deal of courage to back up any unwise or ill-timed action. We need to be very careful to avoid succumbing to the temptations for some kind of 'quick strike'. We are encouraged to transform any vindictiveness or deep seated resentments into a powerful force for broader shifts and productive changes on Thursday. The unfolding clarity that is offered should not be taken for granted. Intuitive guidance is extraordinarily potent on Friday, providing us with freedom and a determined sense of direction. Our individual freedom and power is amplified — but weakness is also subject to exposure. A building, individual confidence and power is amplified by deep connection to 'like-minded' others on Saturday, helping to form a deeper sense of community. We are encouraged to lay an important foundation for the coming burst of initiatory energy.
