Weekly Astrology Forecast: January 11 - January 17

Mars goes into Pisces on Monday of this week, setting up a wealth of opportunity for spiritual growth. However, Mars' square to Saturn suggests that there is work to be done in order to mine the wealth of spiritual inspiration and insight that begins to surface. As we begin the week, we are challenged to understand and incorporate the experience that others are communicating instead of relying solely on our own experience. There may be some impatience as we look for tangible evidence of the progress that was offered by the Winter Solstice New Moon (December 21 5:39 PM PST 0° Capricorn). However, during this phase of the lunar cycle, we need to listen for feedback from the Universe and adjust our approach based on the facts on the ground. The mid-week Scorpio Moon opens up a wide channel for emotional release which can help us clear away some of the debris that may be holding us back or blinding us to the true nature of the gifts that are being offered. The imperative to sort out many of these emotions is strongest on Wednesday when there is a threat of separation if some route to compromise is not found. By Friday, the stakes are raised and defensiveness could slow some of us down. Nonetheless, we continue to be pushed to sort through the chaos to find the gems of insight and inspiration that are surfacing. As Mars approaches Neptune on Saturday, we could easily be lead astray by extravagance and over-excitement. We need to draw on the wisdom and experience of those around us or, perhaps, those who have gone before us. Without establishing some kind of connection outside of ourselves, we could easily find ourselves chasing unreal idealistic delusions, instead of true inspiration.
