Sun/Mercury-Pluto Square - Power Struggles

Last week's Libra (Eclipse) New Moon has presented us with a myriad of differing opinions and options that need to be sorted through in a painstakingly methodical way. Although we may begin the week with quite a 'head of steam', our progress is likely to be slow. Before we can make any definitive decisions, we'll need to check in with our support systems and work towards shoring up our alliances. But we shouldn't expect to have any success trying to persuade or inspire others by using emotional manipulation or general 'platitudes'. We'll need to focus on facts and clear information. Flexibility is likely to be quite important but we aren't inclined to sacrifice our overall plans and goals in order to 'smooth troubled waters' or simply 'keep the peace'. Our sense of mission is powerful. The potent Mercury-Pluto and Sun-Pluto squares are forming all week, culminating on Saturday. Both Mercury and the Sun cross the 'gauntlet' of the Lunar South Node before forming the square to the newly direct Pluto. The Sun/Mercury-Pluto square suggests that we will be guided towards paring away a variety of unusable or unworkable schemes, plans — and possibly people — that aren't in line with our overall aims and goals. This process isn't easy and is likely to come with at least some pain or discomfort. Nonetheless, it is important for us to set aside what isn't working in order to proceed through what is essentially a 'Portal' that leads to more clarity and confidence at the end of the process. Mercury reaches the 'superior' conjunction with the Sun on Thursday, once both have passed the Lunar South Node and before the squares to Pluto complete. Moving past the Sun-Mercury conjunction, we can begin to shift our attention towards the future. The painful challenges associated with the involvement of Pluto sometimes seem to completely obscure the promise of rebirth and rejuvenation that is offered by Pluto. This week's process of sorting through and eliminating many of the opinions and options that have been suggested by the New Moon actually leads to a very narrow passageway through which we must pass in order to find the the truth and clarity that we are seeking. The tension and pressure that we find is something like the pressure that forms diamonds — but it is a process that takes time. At the end of the process is a rebirth. Whether or not we would like to stay comfortably 'on the fence', we won't be able to stay on that fence after we move through the process that unfolds this week.

Indecision seems to dissipate on Sunday and we may build up quite a 'head of steam'. There is extra ability to turn 'stepping stones into stumbling blocks'. Allies may be 'scratching their heads' on Monday and there may be a need for some 'fence mending'. Flexibility and honesty are quietly rewarded. Maintaining focus is difficult on Tuesday. As we begin to let go of unworkable schemes, we can view a vast new landscape. It is important to let everyone 'have their say' on Wednesday. There may be some 'Freudian Slips' which serve to expose faulty thinking or hidden motivations. We may feel held back by some oppressive uncertainty on Thursday. We can make progress but it may seem to be slow. Power struggles may be 'set up' on Friday. We could find ourselves 'stuck' on an approach or strategy that won't quite 'Gel'. Saturday's tensions seem to force us through the 'eye of the needle' — a challenging portal that leads to greater clarity and insights. The option of 'staying on the fence' seems to disappear.
