Mars-Uranus Square
Weekly Horoscope: July 16 - July 22
Mars-Uranus Square - Turmoil
"In all chaos there is a cosmos, in all disorder a secret order."
—Carl Jung
Although the Moon is waning in light this week, the Mars-Uranus square keeps the energy ramped up until at least mid-week. There are strong urges to grab the reigns and gain mastery and control over situations and external circumstances. However, by the end of the week, it is increasingly apparent that it is our inner world that needs our attention. The emotional/intellectual duality that is at work this week can be seen in a sincere intellectual curiosity that is seeking to gain a view from above that gives a broader and more complete perspective. However, the most important information will be found by looking inside ourselves. Mars also trines Chiron early in the week, offering whispered insights telling us that the most important answers are within us. Mars gets to Leo on Thursday, which relieves the steam pressure and helps to develop more direct strategies for engagement. However, our emotional foundations are tested once the Sun joins Mars in Leo and the stage lights come on. Rather than boldly taking the stage, many of us suddenly feel a bit shy ahead of the Leo New Moon (July 23rd, 2:45 AM PDT 0° Leo), which starts us off on a new round at the beginning of next week.
The temptation to take control is intense on Sunday as we face a string of spontaneous, unexpected developments. Although we would like to maintain a sense of power and Mastery over external circumstances, we should remember that the important work is within us. Monday's Taurus Moon seems to help us to 'get a firm grip' on what needs to be done but the Mars-Uranus square produces some considerable headwinds. Caution becomes more important on Tuesday as the confusion begins to take it's toll. We may need to overcome significant suspicion in order to feel safe enough to take a break from the swirl of activity. Intellectual curiosity is spurred by the Mercury-Saturn trine on Wednesday under a Gemini Moon. By following our curiosity, we may even discover an Enchanted Lamp filled with surprising gifts. Mars gets to Leo on Thursday and we are spurred to take direct, independent action that may or may not seem entirely appropriate. By Friday, such actions seem much more dangerous and we may feel our emotional foundations tested by a transitory lack of confidence. There is a significant desire to withdraw on Saturday. The 'stage lights' come on but we'd rather stay in the 'dressing room'. Nonetheless, the New Moon that starts us off on a new course at the beginning of next week will serve to jump start our confidence and enhance our self-expression.
