Mars Turns Direct

Mars Turns Direct - Energy Slingshot

"With time and patience the mulberry leaf becomes a silk gown."

— Chinese Proverb

This week begins with a powerfully grounding and stabilizing Pisces/Virgo Full Moon and a Grand Earth Trine involving the Sun, Saturn and Uranus. Just after the Full Moon, Mars turns direct, having been retrograde since June 26th. The retrograde Mars journey can yield extraordinary frustration so, once direct, we can feel a slingshot effect as the energy begins to be released quite quickly. However, the Full Moon helps to stabilize the energy and keep us focused on honing and developing the powerful inspiration that is coming to us through the Jupiter-Neptune trine. Nonetheless, that inspiration can, at times, be rather vague, hazy or unfocused and when our energy levels begin to rise, we may be inclined to look for quick results, instead of being satisfied with slow, steady progress. As well, there is a heavy sense of responsibility in this atmosphere that may keep us somewhat uncertain. However, what appears to be indecision may, in fact, be the seeds of wisdom and discretion, encouraging us to keep our powder dry until the timing is just right — that is, we need to wait for the dominoes to fall just right before we decide exactly how to bring our visionary inspirations into tangible form. Next week, once Saturn turns direct and Mercury emerges from the shadow of the last retrograde phase, we are likely to find even more fertile ground and begin to benefit from even greater wisdom that is informed by the experiences we have garnered this summer.

Sunday's Full Moon is powerfully stabilizing but also awash with emotional intensity. We can find surprising value in what has previously been seen as useless. Mars turns direct on Monday in a rather hazy, unfocused, but free-wheeling atmosphere that offers us freedom to dream big. There is a strong sense of responsibility on Tuesday in the atmosphere that may keep us 'on the fence'. However, there are powerful opportunities to lay the cornerstones for lasting, future progress. As we reach mid-week, Mercury's forming quincunx to Pluto could lead to some communication challenges as we try to describe the 'blind corner' we are turning. We'll do better to lead by example instead of relying on verbal gymnastics to get our message across. We feel the surge of Martian energy on Thursday but, coupled with the communication challenges and some rather hazy — albeit visionary — inspiration, we could easily feel rising tensions and display more aggressive frustration. The Taurus Moon on Friday helps to ground the tensions but there is increased restlessness and we are prone to look for quick results. By Saturday, the pressure to acquiesce to some kind of compromise and get on with it is very strong. Nonetheless, we'll do better to stay close to 'bedrock principles' and avoid being goaded into ill timed actions.
