This week begins with the arrival of the Sun into Gemini as it makes a highly creative trine to Pluto, boosting our confidence. With Mars now out of Cancer and into Leo, the sometimes irrational focus on protecting boundaries and borders in the name of security finally begins to subside. Self-expression and self-reliance take on much greater significance. Security is still on our minds but we are more inclined to focus on protecting our resources — especially when we believe those resources will help us to maintain our freedom. Upon the entrance of Mars into Leo at the beginning of this week, a powerful fixed T-square is formed with Jupiter and Pluto. This precipitates a highly creative energy which suggests confident, positive, individual development. Although the overall effect should eventually be quite stabilizing, given the fixed sign influence, the initial responses may produce a great deal of impulsive recklessness. It will take time to consider and reflect on the lessons we are given and the impact of our actions before we actually experience the breakthroughs which are offered by the Mars/Pluto/Jupiter T-square. Ambition and strong ego concerns may lead us to expose some of our individual insecurities and indecisiveness. We may be hoping for some approval or appreciation. However, we are far more likely, at least initially, to be concerned about asserting our individual position. As we move through the week, our ability to more productively assert ourselves improves. We are likely to seek more self-reliance and use our individual brain power to sort through any chaos or confusion. The potent growing power of last Friday's Taurus New Moon (8:53 AM PDT 28° Taurus) will begin to show real results. But the growth involves changes which will need to be carefully processed and considered. Some of the intense energy that we find this week can most productively be used to carefully reflect upon the deep feelings of loss, pessimism, or confusion that surface as we see so much changing around us. Taking time for reflection will help us to improve the sense of self-reliance and individual freedom that we are seeking. As well, it will help us to avoid displaying some of the less desirable ego vulnerabilities that we are bound to struggle with in some way, at least during the early part of the week.

Recklessness and impulsiveness are especially dangerous on Sunday. The energy is highly creative and our confidence is boosted — but perhaps too much. A strong ego component surfaces on Monday, leaving us prone to defending areas where we feel insecure. We'll do better to embrace steady effort over hash demands or pushy actions. A wealth of creativity and inspiration helps us to adopt an easy does it approach on Tuesday. Some may do better by retreating to a place of contemplation. Ego concerns may bubble up again on Wednesday but there is hope that we have a better handle on how to express ourselves more effectively. It is important to balance service to others with service to ourselves. Reflection and contemplation is especially helpful on Thursday. Recognition of ongoing changes may produce feelings of loss, pessimism, or confusion. A nervously amiable mood on Friday calls for caution and circumspection. Transitory conflicts may surface if we are asked to sacrifice our individual freedom for security. Commitments should not be relied upon. Self-reliance and individual freedom take on increased significance on Saturday. The atmosphere is chaotic and we aren't inclined to trust much input from others. Discretion helps us to determine who is most likely to understand our individual position.
