Libra Full Moon - Emotional Intensity

"O Divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled as to console; to be understood as to understand; to be loved as to love. "

— Francis of Assisi
The Life and Prayers of Saint Francis of Assisi

We are riding an rather intense wave of emotional intensity this week in the wake of last Saturday's Libra Full Moon (April 16 11:54 AM PDT 26° Libra/Aries). If we have insisted on staying exclusively self-reliant, we could be in for an extremely bumpy ride this week. We need to recognize our need for others or risk finding ourselves isolated and unable to follow through on our commitments. The challenge is to maintain a broad enough perspective to see more than material accomplishment and acquisition. The need to balance material and spiritual/emotional values is paramount. We find numerous opportunities to re-balance our load, clear space, and initiate a new round of planning. However, if we are too focused on gaining recognition for our past accomplishments or if we feel that our contributions have not been properly recognized, we may be prone to explosive outbursts and increasing isolation. The strong pull between material and spiritual values needs an expanded perspective. We may be inclined to push for some desired outcome, taking reckless chances that suggest an all in approach. Faith is needed to keep us from pushing too hard or demanding recognition. This is not the time to rest on our laurels. We are likely to find numerous twists and surprises that we need to acknowledge and incorporate into new planning. If we are able to stay alert, maintain a broad perspective, and honor the messages that we receive from others, we can indeed continue to build upon the inspiration that has been delivered by last week's Jupiter-Neptune conjunction. Certainly, the emotional intensity will ease as we work our way through the week. The Sun's arrival in Taurus on Tuesday helps to stabilize our approach. Our focus turns to establishing a sense of security, with less concern over independent self-reliance. By Saturday, we should begin to enjoy some cheerful optimism. With luck, we can begin to understand and appreciate the challenges that others are facing and recognize that we are indeed not alone.

We need to find effective ways to deal with stress on Sunday. We many not easily recognize our true strengths or how to make the best use of our available resources. The Moon's trine to Neptune and Jupiter on Monday serves to open some emotional 'relief valves'. If we don't feel properly appreciated, we may be prone to explosive outbursts. We will need to be prepared to deal with surprising twists on Tuesday. Reckless misuse of good fortune could turn a lucky break into a set back. Wednesday brings an opportunity for a fresh start and space is cleared for something new. However, we may not have any clear indication or ideas about how to fill the cleared space. There is a more tangible structure to work with on Thursday and a better sense of direction. Focusing solely on material achievement may leave us feeling hollow. An aggressive push for a desired outcome on Friday may not fully take into account the emotional implications. We need to stay in touch with some faith that everything will work out the way it is supposed to. We find some detachment on Saturday, along with cheerful optimism. Stamina and vitality is improved.
