Jupiter Turns Direct

Jupiter Turns Direct - Sea Change

". . .the sea changes color, but the sea does not change."

Jupiter turns direct on Sunday and Uranus turns retrograde. Also on Sunday, Mercury returns to brave and bombastic Leo, approaching an intellectually stimulating square to Uranus. This all represents an incredible Sea change at the beginning of this week but it may take all week for us to fully grasp the we have truly arrived in uncharted territory. Some may assert that we have, in fact, been in "uncharted territory" for quite some time — "thank you very much!" However, what happens this week, especially with Mercury escaping the shadow of the last retrograde phase and Uranus turning retrograde in Taurus for the second time, is that there is an intense demand for reevaluation of some of our most deeply held beliefs. Uranus does not 'dip' back into cardinal sign Aries as it did during the last retrograde phase last fall. Aries provided a significant escape hatch, providing room for self-directed actions based on our past experiences. However, during this retrograde phase of Uranus, there is no escaping the demand that we reevaluate some of our most prized, but dangerously crystallized beliefs — beliefs that give us a false sense of safety and security. In essence, we begin to recognize that the beliefs that form the basis of our sense of safety are not at all as reliable as we might have believed. In fact, this week offers a Great Awakening if we can manage our fears, maintain our balance, and allow ourselves to be guided by the truth that we can only find inside of ourselves. There are strong inclinations to look for approval by conforming to accepted 'norms' and seek acceptance based only on appearances, leading us to sacrifice important elements of ourselves. Thursday's Full Moon (5:29 AM PDT 22° Aquarius) enhances creativity and encourages us to be of service to others but also increases the strong desire for approval. We will need to guard against seeking only to please others, rather than simply offering the best of who and what we truly are.

The shift happens on Sunday as Jupiter turns direct, Uranus turns retrograde and Mercury arrives in Leo. The atmosphere feels rather promising but we must begin to check our foundations. There is a strong desire to keep the peace on Monday and inner confidence is unsteady. Things aren't as complicated as they may seem. The Moon arrives in Aquarius on Tuesday morning, offering detached confidence. However, we may be looking for quick results and find ourselves quite impatient if that is not what we find. A broad perspective offers important opportunity on Wednesday. Thursday's Full Moon brings enhanced intellectual curiosity and plenty of creativity. However, we will need to guard against worrying too much about pleasing others, rather than serving some kind of 'higher purpose'. Friday's Pisces Moon makes detachment difficult to come by. Gaining approval from others seems more and more elusive and could leave us feeling quite shaky and let down. If we are to experience an awaking this week, it may come on Saturday along with the arrival of Mars in practical, logical Virgo. At least, we are likely to recognize that there is, in fact, no going back.
