Gemini Full Moon

Gemini Full Moon - Adaptability

"Adapt or perish, now as ever, is nature's inexorable imperative."

— H. G. Wells

Monday's early morning Gemini Full Moon (1:16 AM PST 4° Gemini/Sagittarius) brings this unpredictable current lunar cycle to a climax. A strong desire for 'Truth' and 'Clarity' is stirred by the Full Moon but a Mercury-Neptune square has us looking for something more. Mercury's square to Neptune completes just after the Full Moon and is likely to keep us trying to focus on the things that we can't quite see instead of what is plainly in front of us. In fact, there is indeed quite a bit going on just below the surface this week. We may not really be able to make out more than just the 'tip of the iceberg'. A great deal of internal processing is working on trying to understand how to adapt to the truths that have revealed during this lunar cycle. Both the Sun and the Moon passed squares to Saturn before the Full Moon. The residual messages from Saturn can encourage us to ignore any information that doesn't give us an advantage. We may be focused only on information that offers to provide us with power and control. There are significant moments of chaos this week under the string of mutable squares. But mutable squares can actually provide surprising resolutions that we aren't expecting. Most notably, we may find that what have seemed to be rather shaky alliances are strengthened. Mercury arrives in Capricorn on Friday, which offers helpful stability and clarity especially when it comes to effectively communicating with those who are closest to us. Once in Capricorn, Mercury begins a long-term sextile to Saturn and approaches what will be an extended trine to Jupiter. Mercury will station retrograde on December 12th and return to Sagittarius on December 23. Under this retrograde period, we will have the opportunity to go back and clear up miscommunication and misunderstandings that have accompanied the unpredictable atmosphere of the past few weeks. With the stability and improved communication comes encouraging optimism. Ultimately, this week provides us with opportunities to adapt to significant changes by 'separating the wheat from the chaff' — letting go of unworkable solutions and exploring inventive new ideas.

Sunday brings uncomfortable tension that is just beneath the surface. Charm is seemingly ineffective and it is difficult to understand exactly where others are coming from. We may hope to find increased clarity on Monday but it isn't easy to figure out what to focus on. We may miss the important truths by trying to find 'something more'. We have the opportunity to make important connections with others on Tuesday. It becomes easier to understand what to focus on and see the facts that are right in front of us. We make a sharp turn inward on Wednesday, trying to adjust to the changing landscape. There is extra protection to explore a wide-ranging variety of ideas and perspectives. A new approach is revealed on Thursday. We have the chance to embrace a unique, individual perspective and make better connections with others. We can begin to make stable, serious connections with others on Friday. Our thinking begins to be more settled and our perspective is more optimistic. There is an improving sense of confidence on Saturday. We can begin to look ahead with increasing optimism.
