Capricorn Sun 2018
Capricorn Sun 2018 - Plans and Strategies
"It does not do to leave a live dragon out of your calculations, if you live near him."
— J.R.R. Tolkien
The Hobbit
This week begins with a surge of confidence and momentum following last Saturday's Cancer Full Moon (9:48 AM PST 0° Cancer/Capricorn). The Capricorn Sun encourages us to pursue our ambitions with steady determination and grade ourselves on a steep curve, based our achievements and accomplishments. However, the Moon's waning light may not provide the continuing surge of momentum that we're expecting. We may be prone to pushing ourselves harder than our preparations can support. Rather than expect great accomplishments, we'll do better by taking inventory and getting better organized so that we're ready for the next surge of activity. Christmas Eve and early on Christmas Day, we get a surge of optimism from the Moon's trine to both Mercury and Jupiter. The danger is that we build heightened expectations, rather than a cushion of philosophical insights and broader perspectives. As we move past Christmas, we're more and more likely to be prone to pushing ourselves too hard and finding ourselves overly concerned about how we appear to others. We reach a pivot point on Thursday when it becomes clear that our efforts need to be focused on organization and planning, rather than continuing to look for grand accomplishments that might help to boost our status. If we adapt successfully, we'll find the atmosphere under the Capricorn Sun very supportive for organizing and strategizing.
Confidence is strong on Sunday, providing us with helpful opportunities to share our thoughts and feelings with others. However, confidence wanes on Monday and we're more prone to vacillation, while possibly making too many compromises to please others. There are challenges on Tuesday that keep us from successfully following strict guidelines and timelines. We'll need a firm cushion of philosophical perspectives to deal with the pressure. Timelines continue to be challenged on Wednesday and grand accomplishments are unlikely. We'll do better to spend the day in quiet reflection, alone or with others. We reach a pivot point on Thursday, when it becomes clear that we need to get organized. Friday morning's VOC Moon leads to unreliable details and continued scheduling snafus. By Saturday, the need for further planning and organization is clear. If we can adapt to the need to get organized and let go of trying to pursue our ambitions prematurely, we'll be much more comfortable.
