Capricorn Full Moon
Capricorn Full Moon - Protective Consolidation
"It is not I who am strong, it is reason, it is truth."
— Émile Zola
There are numerous game changing shifts in the environment this week beginning with Sun's entrance into Cancer — the Summer Solstice. The Cancer Sun brings a focus on protectiveness and a desire for some consolidation of material gains. Thursday's Capricorn Full Moon (11:39 AM PDT 3° Capricorn/Cancer) encourages a tight hold on our feelings and emotions while we try to establish some sense of control of our immediate surroundings. The Full Moon's imperatives may even seem threatening, with the feeling that we're 'out on a limb'. However, the threats we feel may actually be powerful motivators that lead us to the discovery of hidden strengths and abilities. Through this discovery, we begin to recognize new ways to escape some of the restrictions and frustration that has been produced by this year's overarching Saturn-Uranus square, which has seemed to keep our progress excruciatingly slow. Mercury turns direct in Gemini this week, suggesting that we will begin to have more support for communicating our individual perspective with more effectiveness. Although the pace continues to be slow, our intellect can begin help us sort through the foggy confusion of the Mercury retrograde period. Much of the confusion has been produced by the long square of Mercury to Neptune. Mercury will square Neptune one more time, July 6th, so we should not expect the 'fog machine' to stop completely even though Mercury has turned direct. Nonetheless, there is better support for initiating productive dialog. Both Jupiter and Neptune turn retrograde this week, producing more significant changes to the overall environment. Jupiter's retrograde station in Pisces will help us to more deeply examine our connections with others and our deeper truths that we may be hesitant to fully express. When Jupiter moves back into Aquarius, later this year, we will begin to focus on creating a better future, armed with a deeper awareness and more confidence in our individual perspective. The retrograding Neptune period encourages further development of our intuition focused on understanding our individual creative vision. By the end of the week, Venus leaves cautious Cancer to join Mars in bold Leo. Mars is approaching an activating square to Uranus which will complete next week. With Venus in the mix, relationships may be challenged, but Chiron's involvement will provide extra help to bring healing through the challenges. The Mars-Uranus square is softened by a Mars-Chiron trine. Both Mars and Venus in Leo offer increasing confidence and improve our 'flair' for presenting ourselves and our perspectives effectively. For the most part, all of this week's shifts are likely to feel rather subtle, recognized more by our intuition than in tangible activity and individual interactions. The progress this week is haphazard and uneven, tinged with confusing emotions and ill-defined imperatives. We are beginning to unwind a myriad of self-doubts, overly optimistic expectations, and vague idealism that needs more grounding in tangible facts and information. As we begin to adjust to this new environment, we should begin to develop more self-confidence and gain important new skills that help us to communicate our creative vision with powerful effectiveness.
The Sun's entrance into Cancer on Sunday brings a feeling of protectiveness. Jupiter turns retrograde, increasing the tendency to say less than we know in order to protect a deeply vulnerable process of self-examination. Intuition and creativity is strong on Monday. However, progress is haphazard and uneven. Tuesday's Sagittarius Moon is inspiring and energizing. The atmosphere is lively and spontaneous. Wednesday's chaos and confusion springs from overly optimistic, idealistic expectations and misunderstandings. Mercury's direct motion demands that we begin to unspool this confusion in order to establish more effective communication. The Capricorn Full Moon on Thursday leads to some rather tightly controlled emotions and a demand for careful balance. There may be some sense of threat to our basic security. However, such threats may serve as motivation to help us to access hidden strengths. Friday brings a turning point in our self-confidence. There is some potential for hidden hostilities to rise to the surface and find resolution and healing. Venus arrives in Leo on Saturday, joining Mars. There is a building sense of confidence and capacity to effectively express our individual perspective with poise and flair.
