Cancer New Moon - Questions

"Rather than being your thoughts and emotions, be the awareness behind them."

—Eckhart Tolle

This week turns on Monday's Cancer New Moon (10:32 AM PDT 28° Cancer) in tight opposition to Saturn. Questions are raised and awareness is demanded. Very quickly, we begin to feels some emotional vulnerabilities and possibly uncertainty. The real challenge is to stay with the process of expanding our awareness while avoiding a building concern to display only showy bravado. There are waves of concern over how others are seeing us throughout the week. The Sun's entrance into Leo on Wednesday increases our focus on performance and display and may discourage our investigation of any information that puts us on edge emotionally. It is intensely difficult to process any information when our emotional blinders are up. Nonetheless, the seeds of responsibility and awareness have been planted. Mercury begins to approach a 'second round' square to Mars, stirring our minds. If we are fearless, we will find that the insecurity and uncertainty actually shows us where to look for healing — if we aren't afraid to face those vulnerabilities honestly. By the end of the week, the swirl of activity becomes intense and demanding. There are spontaneous shifts that may feel quite destabilizing. Although we may feel surges of confidence at some points in the process, things will undoubtedly seem quite out of control. We should also be aware that, included in this mix, there is also a 'second round' Venus-Neptune square, encouraging another round of questionable, idealistic, over-optimism, similar to what we experienced in April and May. Reliable information is the antidote to the over-optimism encouraged by this square and should be more available than it was during this square's first pass.

We may feel some sense of restriction on Sunday. Responsibility is uppermost in our minds — some will handle it better than others. The pressure will actually help us to make the most of what is offered. Monday's Cancer New Moon demands awareness and raises questions about our relationship with our family, tribe, culture, and society. A concern over appearances is especially intense on Tuesday. We may feel significant uncertainty, insecurity, or vulnerability but be afraid to honestly acknowledge it. Further emphasis on our 'look-good' continues into Wednesday but our focus shifts to more courageous investigation once the Moon arrives in Virgo Wednesday evening. Enthusiasm grows on Thursday as we feel more comfortable both showing and accepting appreciation of our efforts. However, we should be careful not to plant the seeds of over-optimism. Awareness grows significantly on Friday but the question is whether or not we are emotionally equipped to process the new information that is surfacing. A swirl of activity on Saturday prompts a number of shifts that may seem to be 'out of control'.
