Aries Full Moon - Decisions

"It may be that when we no longer know what to do, we have come to our real work, and that when we no longer know which way to go, we have begun our real journey."

— Wendell Berry

We hit another Mars-Saturn Square this week, with the edge going to Saturn this time — creating restrictions and obstacles. However, with Mercury's arrival in Scorpio and Venus moving into Virgo (also this week), there's extra grit and determination, along with a touch of skepticism, that keeps us digging deeper for answers and looking for new routes and new creative solutions. The retrograding Mars slows down our actions but there is extra creativity that helps us to make up for the diminished push of energy. Thursday's Aries Full Moon (2:05 PM PDT 9° Aries/Libra) is closely aligned with Chiron, encouraging us to stand apart from others. But the Sun is in a tight quincunx with Uranus, pointing to the continuing need for adjustment and compromise and adding another round of shocks that seem even more uncomfortable. Nonetheless, the adjustments will ultimately be 'for the best', although some may become increasingly fatalistic — even demoralized. The more that we can find a way to view our situations and circumstances with a broad perspective, the more that we will begin to recognize important patterns that can serve to inform us of the best ways to adjust and adapt. The nature of Mars retrograde as a Spiritual Warrior continues to offer heightened spiritual insight and although the grinding and polishing process may often feel especially uncomfortable this week, the opportunities for awakening to a broader perspective and greater understanding are truly extraordinary. If we can rise above any feelings of demoralization or fatalism, we will find important creative resolutions. But we need to remember that this atmosphere definitely does not offer quick solutions. Of note, there is another marker set down on Friday (combining with the one set on September 23rd), identifying important areas to look at more deeply under the coming retrograde Mercury (October 14 - November 7).

Mercury arrives in Scorpio on Sunday, demanding interaction with others whether or not we like it. The need to explain ourselves is paramount. Delivering our message seems easier on Monday, with the Moon's arrival in Pisces, trining Mercury. We find it easier to get to the heart of the matter. Mars square Saturn — round 2 — occurs on Tuesday with the edge going to Saturn. Despite the increasing sense of restriction, we can have faith that 'more will be revealed'. Wednesday's VOC Moon is especially confounding. Misinformation is rampant. Thursday's Aries Full Moon finds us ready to stand apart from the crowd but we still can't side-step the need to make adjustments and compromises. Venus arrives in Virgo on Friday, suggesting a slightly skeptical attitude. We are less willing to gloss over discrepancies and inconsistencies. By Saturday, our sense of mission and purpose coalesces to some degree, serving to ground our intentions and balance the desires of our heart with the insight of our head.
