The vision, ideas, breakthroughs, and insights that we are discovering and experiencing under the ongoing retrograde Mercury in Aquarius may not all be fully recognized while we are actually IN the process of discovery. This is a time when it is especially important to trust the process, staying adaptable, while continuing to look for new perspectives but not getting stuck on some prized goal or aspiration. Thursday's Aquarius New Moon (11:05 AM PST 23° Aquarius) occurs while Venus is conjunct Jupiter — also in Aquarius. The emphasis is on expanded knowledge and new perspectives through the sharing our of insights and experiences. However, many of the demands of this week involve the need for endurance and determination. Before we arrive at the New Moon, there are fresh rounds of discouragement and disillusionment to contend with. It may be quite easy to fall into the trap of dissolute nihilism. The light of the Moon dims and we may feel as though we have lost or are losing our way. The erratic, spontaneous nature of Aquarius will keep us on our toes all week and require us to stay adaptable and willing to listen to what others are telling us about their perspectives. The most important element in this process of sharing perspectives and insights is to find and maintain compassion, even for those who's perspective seem especially foreign to us. Aquarius is freedom loving but we need to respect that the freedom that we are seeking and demanding for ourselves must also be allowed to flourish in those around us. The process of discovery that we embark on under this week's New Moon will not be a process that really allows us to set our sights on goals and ambitions, mark our progress, and revel in the results at the end of the process. Rather, this is a process that leads to a new process — a process that is about cooperation, collaboration, and the sharing of ideas, insights, and perspectives as a whole new way of operating in the world. In essence, the lessons are inviting us to a new way of working. In this environment, the goals may be far less important than the process by which we achieve those results. The more that we can gain new perspectives on the value of cooperation, collaboration, and communication, the more progress we will have made — whether or not we can see any tangible, practical results. Although we may not find perfect solutions as we move through the week, we will still be successful if we have begun to discover a better understanding of a perfect process that can lead to the discovery of those solutions.

Mercury conjuncts Pallas on Sunday, offering an optimistic new perspective that allows us to turn a corner on old and outmoded ideas without dishonoring our past experiences and mistakes. There may be some unexpected setbacks on Monday. The swings between elation and disappointment may be very difficult to navigate. We will need to stay alert in order to find fleeting opportunities for progress. Mercury approaches a square to Mars on Tuesday, potentially keeping us stuck in an aggressive mode in defense of our ideas. Adaptability feels threatening and dangerous. Although navigation is difficult on Wednesday, communication is enhanced if we are willing to share our uncertainties and listen with compassion to the uncertainties of others. The Aquarius New Moon on Thursday has us turning a corner without being able to clearly see where we're going. The atmosphere is erratic and possibly unsettling, with numerous distractions that keep us off balance. Honest communication offers important breakthroughs on Friday. While the shifts may seem sudden and surprising, it is likely that there have been solid foundations laid through past efforts that have led to the developments we see. There is some tendency to try to push our weight around on Saturday due to an impatient desire to make faster progress. However, if we can take a step back, we may recognize that progress has actually been more substantial than we think.
