Aquarius Full Moon

Aquarius Full Moon - Detachment

"Still round the corner there may wait, A new road or a secret gate."

— J. R. R. Tolkien

Both Mars and Venus (in Leo) move through a sort of gauntlet this week, forming quincunxes to both Pluto in Capricorn and Neptune in Pisces — creating a powerful but challenging YOD aspect. Mars and Venus in Leo are driving an intense amount of creative inspiration but the quincunx aspect creates the need for adjustments, challenging us to see around a blind corner. The messages from Neptune and Pluto reveal the need for faith and transformation in order to make the kind of creative, innovative advances that we are feeling inspired to manifest. We find ourselves out of our comfort zone, deeply stirred by idealistic vision and creative passion. There are strong imperatives which make detachment and patience almost out of the question, and yet that is exactly what is needed this week. We may be prone to use some 'sharp elbows' to side step the challenges, abrasively pushing forward an ego-driven desire to achieve. Venus moves into Virgo on Wednesday, which helps us to recognize the need for discrimination and the development of a clearly defined plan of action. Nonetheless, the intensity builds all week as we head toward Friday's Aquarius Full Moon (7:36 PM PDT 1° Aquarius/Leo). The Sun's arrival in Leo, the day before the Full Moon, forms another quincunx — Sun quincunx Jupiter — that drives our ambition but does not help us to stay realistic. Idealism reaches a peak at the Full Moon but with the Sun out of Cancer, the emotional intensity begins to dissipate. The Full Moon provides more capacity to detach. Once the intensity and strong push begins to dissipate, some may feel that they have lost the sense of purpose that has been driving them. Nonetheless, when we begin to balance our idealism with the 'facts on the ground' we begin to gain a better understanding of how to move past overly idealistic ambitions and disappointment so that we can begin the hard work of methodically executing a well-planned approach. Saturday's Mercury-Neptune trine helps us to re-balance our inspiration and our loyalties.

There is strong pressure to move too hastily on Sunday. We need to avoid getting bogged down in ego-based personality clashes. We may find ourselves feeling a bit inept on Monday but a short dose of detachment helps us to get our bearings in an unfamiliar, high-intensity environment. The strong push to move forward could become a bit aggressive on Tuesday. Sharp elbows create unnecessary complications. There is extra need for patience. Venus moves into Virgo on Wednesday, providing some awareness of the need for discrimination and careful planning. Idealism and intensity continue to build on Thursday but the Capricorn Moon demands that we get down to 'brass tacks' and maintain steady effort. The Aquarius Full Moon on Friday brings some uncertainty as we try to adjust to a more detached environment. Mercury's forming trine to Neptune brings a new dose of inspiration but without the aggressive, ego-driven intensity. There is a strong need for balance on Saturday. We may feel that our loyalties are pulling us in opposing directions. It is important to remember that we first must be loyal to ourselves by maintaining our integrity.
