Venus-Saturn Square - Challenging Relationships
"Oh, we got to let the music play"
We are offered an important lesson about the value of listening this week. Last week's Taurus New Moon (May 4th, 3:45 PM PDT 14° Taurus) initiated an entirely new round of insight and inspiration but it's a very slow process. Frustrations and impatience may seem to smolder all week. Rather than making proclamations and beating others over the head with the facts, we do better this week by allowing others the room to process the facts for themselves. Although this may seem like an excruciating exercise, we will have to recognize that our impatience actually reveals an underlying lack of faith in our own position. Mercury arrives in Taurus this week and, by Wednesday, makes an extraordinarily insightful conjunction with Uranus. However, relationship dynamics are challenging under the Venus-Saturn Square on Tuesday, which makes it especially difficult to get our message across — another important clue that we'll do better (and seem smarter) by just listening. As we move through the week, there are exciting opportunities to explore creative options and expand our understanding. However, by week's end, we may feel that our egos are on the line and wind up pushing too hard to gain approval for our own position. Ultimately, this week isn't about showing off our own determination but rather, building consensus and cultivating allies.
Sunday's intensely powerful atmosphere is unmistakable although the Moon is VOC for most of the day. However, by Monday when Mercury arrives in Taurus (under a Gemini Moon), the shifts in thinking are apparent. Nonetheless, confidence is a bit shaky. Tuesday's heightened activity is inspiring but impatience is hard to avoid under the Venus-Saturn Square. Patience will pay off so we should try to avoid getting our hand stuck in the spinning wheel of fortune. The Mercury-Uranus conjunction on Wednesday brings exciting and unexpected insights — although some may be more unsettled than excited. Thursday feels like a pressure-cooker and there is some danger of stretching ourselves too thin trying to accommodate all of the activity and differing points of view. By Friday, our egos begin to get wrapped up in the week's mix of insight and excitement and we begin to look for some approval or acknowledgment. We reach the 1st quarter of the lunar phase on Saturday. Exciting rewards begin to surface for those who have managed to maintain patience.
