Sun-Neptune Square - Fateful Vulnerability

"There is nothing in a caterpillar that tells you it's going to be a butterfly."

— R. Buckminster Fuller

There is some significant emotional upheaval this week, filtered through our beliefs, weaknesses, and vulnerabilities. The Sun-Neptune square is intensified by the Sun's conjunction to the South Node, which increases a sense of fate or destiny and emphasizes things that we see slipping away. We may find ourselves feeling overwhelmed as the Sun-Neptune square is energetically stirred by a trine to Mars. While we feel the energy, we don't really feel the confidence to go forth. At some points, we may see the energy expressed through aggression that may seem to simulate confidence but we should not be fooled. Any demands for firm commitments should be fully examined. There is a significant amount of exposure that could leave us feeling vulnerable, dissolute, or disillusioned. The strong sense of responsibility, coupled with increased vulnerability, creates a significant potential for being misled. At various points this week, our instincts may kick in to help us recognize that this process is 'in preparation" for the coming transition/transformation. What is perhaps most important this week is to find ways to be honest and admit the weaknesses or vulnerabilities that are exposed. We have an important opportunity to let go of beliefs and illusions that no longer serve us. We are moving through a waning lunar cycle and there is a strong sense of completion or culmination. Next Monday's Sagittarius New Moon (8:16 AM PST 23° Sagittarius) signals the turn towards a new beginning as both Saturn and Jupiter will move into Aquarius by the end of next week. The more that we can embrace the process that is underway this week, the better prepared we will be for the changes that are coming. In essence, we have the opportunity this week to purge outmoded beliefs and admit our weaknesses and vulnerabilities. Honesty and humility will allow us to open the door to new lines of communication. However, we may be more inclined to withdraw by the end of the week, looking for rest and reflection.

We will need to pay attention to the details on Sunday. There are a number of adjustments required. Responsibility and courage help us to smooth the bumpy road on Monday. A philosophical approach increases our capacity for sustained effort. Tensions seem to rise on Tuesday. Vulnerabilities are exposed that may have us feeling threatened. Increasing feelings of weakness and vulnerability may have us feeling overwhelmed on Wednesday. We may have the sense that we are falling into the void. However, there is some reassurance that there will be time to further reexamine the weaknesses that we have discovered. Outward optimism may obscure insecurities and low self-esteem on Thursday. We begin to have the inclination to seek a place to withdraw in order to reflect. We feel more strength to embrace the process of purging our vulnerabilities on Friday. We may find ourselves looking for reassurance through acknowledgement of our efforts. Withdrawal is even more attractive on Saturday. Rest and reflection is much preferred over opening new lines of communication or openly discussing the vulnerabilities that have been exposed this week.
