Summer Solstice - Emotional Perspective

It's likely that there's quite a bit of emotional confusion to deal with as we begin to work with last week's Gemini New Moon energy. Gemini is highly intellectual but the Sun's square to Neptune completes just after the New Moon, creating significant potential for emotional vulnerability, deception, or manipulation, especially as the Moon transits Cancer at the beginning of the week. However, by the Summer Solstice on Wednesday, Mercury's sextile to Mars boosts our confidence and the Cancer Sun helps us put our emotional vulnerabilities into perspective. A balanced perspective is also supported by the Jupiter-Saturn sextile. As Saturn retrogrades in Pisces we will continue to need to examine our self-image and sense of self-worth and this week's emotional confusion can create significant challenges to that process. We will need to work towards separating our emotions from the facts and information that are laid out before us. We will need to focus on clearing the emotional confusion through intellectual clarification. The process requires self-discipline and methodical review of what we believe. Self-direction and assertiveness is easily 'hung up' by concerns over what others may think of us. The pressure from a forming Mars-Uranus square begins to build mid-week, creating tensions surrounding our material security and individual autonomy. Although the square won't complete until the beginning of next week, we aren't likely to be able to ignore the developing tension. This week's Mars-Chiron trine (ahead of the Mars-Uranus square) offers help through added courage and confidence in our unique perspective. There are opportunities to diffuse the building tension when we focus directly on separating our emotions from the information that we have to work with. We don't need to draw final conclusions, just 'stay with the process' of clarifying our perspective by removing the emotional blinders that cloud our intellectual understanding. Nonetheless, emotional vulnerability and material insecurity are stubborn obstacles that stand in the way of fully acknowledging what our intellect is telling us. Emotional confusion can also blind us to our own intrinsic value and lead us to a loss of faith in ourselves. It is important to remember that balancing spiritual and material issues is a dynamic, creative process that demands continued awareness and engagement.

The environment is incredibly emotionally sensitive on Sunday. Emotions swirl, clouding any clear, intellectual information and creating the potential for deception or manipulation. There are few options but to face our emotional confusion directly on Monday. The atmosphere is both challenging and clarifying, creating the potential for balance and organization. Emotional vulnerability and confusion reaches a peak on Tuesday afternoon. However, the latter part of the day brings extra confidence to clear away the confusion. Emotions are harnessed by a sense of purpose on Wednesday. The Summer Solstice brings extra perseverance and the determination to balance our perspective. Resolutions are possible on Thursday but what is most helpful is meditation and calm reflection. However, there isn't much support for direct action. There is tension beginning to build on Friday. While we don't really need to draw final conclusions, it's important to separate the facts from our emotions. Pressure builds on Saturday but so, too, does confidence. Intellectual investigation and consideration will pay off faster than we may expect.
