Mars Turns Direct
Mars Turns Direct - Release of Energy
"People have only as much liberty as they have the intelligence to want and the courage to take."
— Emma Goldman
As this unpredictable and erratic lunar cycle wanes, individual voices begin to break out. While there is still a need for cooperation and common effort, there are individual perspectives that demand a hearing. Independent Mars is slowing down to turn direct on Friday evening, whipping up energy levels. However, our ability to actually initiate definitive individual actions will continue to be stifled and thwarted until Mars turns direct and begins to pick up forward speed. Although it may feel as though there is a breakdown of common purpose and some indication that alliances may be falling apart, this week is really just offering us the opportunity to funnel our perspectives, energy, and ideas into a pipeline that expands overall understanding. By the time we reach Saturday's Scorpio New Moon (9:07 PM PST 23° Scorpio), we can begin to recognize opportunities to pull together the independent voices and perspective into an expansive, new collaborative effort. Although there is significant optimism, we need to guard against the kind of hubris that completely abandons our heritage and traditions — our past — in favor of an entirely new approach. We will need to maintain enough humility to honor the past, even though we are finally ready to begin building something entirely new. As well, we need to make the effort to listen carefully and take into account the myriad of differing perspectives. As we turn the corner that the New Moon at the end of the week provides, we finally have an opportunity to undertake new initiatives and implement definitive action plans. Our aim, under this New Moon, is total transformation. We may feel high hope and optimism. Individual determination must be tempered by the need for alliances. Total transformation cannot ignore the past — the ground upon which we begin to build a new future. We will need self-discipline, clear eyes, and a healthy dose of humility in order to achieve the kind of successes that we begin to envision under the new lunar cycle. We should never forget that frustration and disappointment does not automatically lead to ultimate defeat — "Keep calm and carry on".
Individual initiatives and voices are highlighted on Sunday. Self-assurance is needed in order to avoid landing in a defensive crouch. The Sun-Neptune trine on Monday helps to soften some of the defensiveness and provide some room for cooperation and compromise. Mercury returns to 'deep-diving' Scorpio on Tuesday. We begin to recognize that there are larger forces at work. This 'glimpse of reality' may highlight our mistakes and reveal expectations that have been wildly out of line. There is significant frustration on Wednesday as we work to maintain our individuality while looking for common ground. We know we need others — which only increases our frustration when we can't build cooperation. Thursday's atmosphere is expansive and generous. However, there continue to be individual perspectives that are hidden just beneath the surface. Many individuals feel especially vulnerable. Friday's Scorpio Moon foreshadows Saturday's New Moon. We begin to recognize the need to pull together the myriad of independent voices into some kind of coherent, cohesive, common effort. Mars turns direct on Friday evening. The Scorpio New Moon on Saturday evening initiates a process of tangible planning activity and offers the opportunities to finally take tangible action to create a new future. But we need plenty of humility and diligence in order to incorporate a broad swath of diverse perspectives into our new initiatives.
